Oh me oh my. I’ve been dying to share this Inside Outside Card with you but have been waiting for it to be back in stock. (I get so frustrated when I go to buy something and it’s all out!) That said – they might go fast after this video. Just saying!

There are a few stamps that lend themselves well to having something going on both inside and outside – those somethings that line up. And when I saw Make My Tail Wag from My Favorite Things, I just knew I had to create a scene that continued from the outside to the inside of a card! It’s all done on the 80# Neenah, too (available in a 25 pack or ream) – the 110 would have been too thick for the layers on the front. Watch the video below, or click HERE to watch in HD on YouTube.
So much FUN, don’t you think? It may have taken double the coloring time for this, but it’s totally worth the impact of that inside outside image. If you know of other stamp sets that would be perfect for this, let me know, I need to do it again! 🙂

I think the poor pup who’s lost his stick needs some new friends. Whatcha think?

How to align the stamping, inside and out
I didn’t film the stamping part – it took a bit to figure out using my MISTI – but basically I stamped the dog peeking over the fence for the inside first, and stamped one on tracing paper. I flipped it, then was able to line up the face for the other side. Does that make sense? If not I’ll try to do this with some other stamps sometime to show you the process. Way fun and easy once you get the hang of it!

It’s some thing that Copic used to do back when this card was made – they would sell markers in sets of threes.
Sandy I fell in love with this card and quickly purchased it BUT now I can’t figure out how to stamp both sides of the dog looking over the fence. I tried mirror stamping the back and that finally worked but I can’t match up the front of the stamp for the face.
I love your videos but I need more help please…

I did this so many years ago, I don’t exactly remember my process. However, are you certain you have the same stamp set? It hasn’t been available for quite a long time, and even if you have a stamp that has a front and back view, they simply may not be designed to align precisely at all. You could figure that out by stamping the front on tracing paper and see if the back can be aligned with the front.
I’ve taken a bunch of your Copic classes and don’t remember learning about “Natural Blending Groups”. is there a place I can read about these? Thanks for these doggies!
I’ve been thinking about your question, it stuck in the back of my brain—it was incomplete. They are trios of colors that share the same letter and first digit. I talked about them a bit in Copic Jumpstart; they’re the colors that are easiest to blend since they share a color family and a saturation level.
I remembered this card you made, and I finally picked up this stamp set from MFT today. I try to wait to make sure the latest “must have” is something that I really want and I couldn’t stop thinking about this set! LOL TFS and always inspiring (and sometimes enabling!). hehehe xoxo, kristina
Hi Sandy. I love the card and video. I made one myself. please come and watch my card on http://www.brendaskaarten.blogspot.com

Oh me, oh my! I just stumbled upon your blog tonight and I gotta say I’m in love. This card is completely amazing! It just so happens I own this set so I love seeing one more darling way to use it. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
This is the cutest card I have ever seen. You are so talented! Thanks for sharing your technique.
Cute card. Love the inside – outside concept. Great tip on how to do the fence. TFS
This is one of your best cards ever! Super-duper well done!
I bought this set the day it came out. So, lucky me. (Okay, the store is only about an hour from my house.) I just want you to know – I can’t be the only one. I sit at my desk and just GIGGLE when you color. You’re the reason I got my airbrush system and I can’t thank you enough for the inspiration. This card of yours will make me smile all night long. Your videos are helpful beyond words. And it’s a good thing “CASE” means something in cardmaking. Really.
Adorable is all I have to say!
Oh so CUTE!!
Sandy you never disappoint, you are sooo creative.
Oh goodness Sandy this card is too adorable. I want to give this inside outside card a try. Coloring on this one is brilliant. Thanks for sharing with all of us.
Sandy, this is so cute! I definitely need more Copic markers!!! I love this. I think you should try this with the barn and critters from MFT.
Love watching you color. Your tutorials are so inspiring. What a cute cute card. Love the little dogs and the peek over is perfect. TFS
Can’t wait to try this. I think I’m going to paper piece the dog bed!

OMGosh!!! so cute!! Love this card so much!!
This is such a cute card! I don’t know if you have seen Art Impressions front and back stamps but they have quite a few you could use in projects like this.
What a fun card. I love dogs. Now I want these stamps. Will have to go on my wishlist.
Oh my gosh is this ever cute!!! The Art Impressions front & back stamps sets have often caught my eye. It never occurred to me to consider the effect could be had with many sets I already have.
Very nice card! I really like how you did the fence. And yay – I can see the comments from others, so your updated blog is much better than before.
Sandy, you’ve done it again. I’m glad to see you using an MFT stamp set as they were my first favorite stamps to collect…and use. What an awesome and inventive use of these stamps and the copic colors! I love it.
This is really cute! Love the scene on both sides of the fence.
Sandy! I ACCIDENTALLY hit the unsubscribe button! No way did I mean too. Will re-subscribe later when I can get to my computer rather than phone!! Love, Glenda
LOL! No worries, I won’t be offended by the unsubscribe 🙂
Awesome card! Awesome video! Really enjoyed watching you color these adorable images and getting little tips along the way. Thank you!
So cute!!! I love the Inside/Out cards. Thanks for all the tips.
It’s never a waste of time watching you create!!! Yes, please on a MISTI video on how you lined up the front and the back.
Just amazing, Sandy! I don’t even use Copics but it was fascinating to watch you create such a wonderful scene on this card! Can you think of a way to use this technique for a garden scene ~ perhaps hollyhocks growing along a picket fence or garden gate? The flowers could show on both the front and inside of the card! ♡
I love this card. Here’s a set that might work for you – Art Impressions CAT & DOG MINI. They have others too. Have a great weekend.
This is just the most adorable card! So, so, so CUTE! I love it!
You are the best!
Amazing. I always like animal cards, especially dogs.
I’ve had some tech difficulties here, too this week, but I’m back now – and look at you! A whole new look – very spiffy. Those pups are pretty spiffy too – can’t wait to try this! I think adults, as well as kids will go crazy when they open-up this card – what fun!
Thanks for another great idea – you never disappoint!
