Crafty Hack: Create a Christmas card with a frame of trees

Crafty Hack: Create a Christmas card with a frame of trees

One tip for a really easy scene: create a frame of trees around the focal image. Trees don’t have to be hard – scribbles can appear to be trees even if they’re not really perfectly done! Color a night sky with dark trees and you’ll convince the viewer; they’re looking at your image, not the background.

The same idea can be done in a blue color scheme too….

Interactive Inside/Outside Door Cards

Interactive Inside/Outside Door Cards

I’ve colored so many stamps and scenes with wood that as soon as I saw this door die from Lawn Fawn, I had to add it to my queue of video projects to share! (I’ll likely do some more on Instagram too, so keep eyes peeled through the season!) Most of what I’ve seen done with this have outer doors looking into a scene inside a house. But I did an inside door looking outside! There’s so much room to customize the door’s surroundings. Make it look like your house!

Here’s the house colored in the video – with those little white Sharpie pen lines to make the wallpaper.

The scene is so cute out the door, it doesn’t even need any crazy shading at all.

And this one which was a bit of a mess when I got it colored turned into a card I liked once I added the Distress Spray snow…

Mistletoe Kisses in a Tree Trunk – Christmas card

Mistletoe Kisses in a Tree Trunk – Christmas card

This little scene is way easier than you think – I dare you to try it! These foxes are perfect for it but think about other stamps you have that could create this scene. Be sure to tag me on Instagram, I’d love to see what you create!

Warm Scene Christmas Coloring: Glowing fireplace

Warm Scene Christmas Coloring: Glowing fireplace

In today’s video I pulled out my new Christmas Dreams set – with a sleeping kitty and puppy, did you ever think I’d skip buying this set? Heck no! I used a lot of the images in the set (but not all) and in the video I show you some tips for figuring out where a fireplace casts light.

Snowy Blizzard card

Snowy Blizzard card

Sometimes it’s an image that inspires a card – other times it’s a sentiment! And the “piled high” was what got me here…to make a stack of penguins!

That Sharpie pen sure makes quick work of snow – it may not be as white or sharp as my Uniball, but it doesn’t take any work to get it moving!

You can stack up other things too – and you can also use the City Sidewalks backgrounds!
