If you’re a fan of Tim Holtz’s bird crazy stamps, you’re not alone! Whenever I need a little smile, I just stamp one and color it – just for fun! And I’m pretty excited to have gotten a little shoutout this past weekend from Tim himself! 🙂
I just love these birds! There’s something so expressive about them – what fun! I decided I wanted to do something using all six, but they don’t exactly fit on an A2 card, so this piece will go on the wall in my craft room. It has some adaptations to the stamps to make them extra-cute!

I made a card with the same technique and one of the bird crazy stamps – the whole card base is watercolor cardstock, so it’s one layer. I added some Glossy Accents to the glasses, too! This card will go with my gift in a crafty gift exchange…I think it’s perfect for that! The card base for this one is the Canson.

The pencils are on my wishlist for a long time 🙂 And my mom is my favorite crafty friend, she’s the one that introduced me to crafting too 🙂
Love your wall hanging Sandy! Was fun seeing how you did the birds and the different changes on them. My best crafty buddy would have to be my friend Paris. Unfortunately, since I moved away from her almost five years ago we haven’t been able to craft together. Happy birthday to you! Have fun on your crafty retreat. 🙂 Thanks so much for the chance to win! 🙂
Oh, Sandy, wow! I love these birds, and I’ve ordered them…on their way! I LOVE how you’ve used them and love seeing you use the Inktense pencils. My best crafty friend is BeckyTE, and we had a fun day stamping yesterday. I would LOVE to have your old set of 12. And happy birthday…soon! Hugs!
Happy almost birthday! My crafty friend is Jan.
What a very fun creation…I love this sentiment. My best crafty friend is Meena…she really just goes with it and doesn’t over think things. I need to go with her attitude sometimes!
What a fun piece. Love all the added details you did to make it your own. My best crafty friend is Judy. We quilt, sew, scrap, knit / crochet and make cards together. We learn from each other and have lots of fun.
Happy Birthday Sandy. I would love to take the intense pencils off of your hands even if they are little stubs. My best crafty friend is you, Sandy Allnock. Just love your style which is always inspirational to me.
My best crafty friend is Marissa, for always showing me the latest and greatest stuff she finds and hosting fun crops! 🙂
I love the birds! Thanks for the great opportunity to win the pencils. I would love to try them out!
My roommate is my best crafty friend. We love our days of coloring and card making. Of course, you, Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire are my online CFFs (crafty friends forever)!
What a fun watercolor for your craft room. My best crafty friend is Sharon. We started a church card ministry together.
These birds are wonderful especially with the crafty tools modifications you did. I would love to try the pencils after watching you use them! You are my favorite crafty person now!
Love your birds!
Sandy,
Even though we haven’t met I consider you my favorite crafty friend, I have been introduced to so many different techniques and ideas through you that I am always learning, I would LOVE to be entered into your drawing for your gently used pencils.
Paula K.
I am interested in card making but know nothing about the stamping and coloring techniques. I found your videos and am enjoying them. One thing – after your main video you usually have one or two more. But I can never find them again if I do not have time to watch them right then. How do I find them? For example, my husband and son are bird watchers and these stamps are of some interest. I watched you do your poster and then the owl with the bookshelves but now cannot find the other one with the bird crazy stamp. Help.
You are a talented artist and I don’t know if I can ever do the things you do. I want to start slow and learn and your videos are great for showing new techniques.
Thank you
I have hundreds of them on my YouTube channel: http:/youtube.com/colourfulvideo – you can type in keywords in the search bar for the channel (not the one at the VERY top of the page, but below the orangey banner) and find something. If you search for “bird crazy” then the other one will show up, and you can do searches for others or just watch anything that comes up. Have fun!
Love your bird creation!! My sil makes cards, too. We’ve done a little crafting together.
my crafty friend is my cat. she supervises me! no, seriously! 😀 and I LUV that you used the term “flooooofy” – we use that term here in place of fluffy too!
That’s beautiful! My best crafty friend is my computer 🙂 I learn so much from bloggers and talented crafters like you.
My best crafty friend is Mary Mac. I know that if we lived closer together we would do nothing but craft the day and night away. I think I’ll give her a call today.
Oh, I’ve been wanting to try those Inktense pencils! Would be fun to win! These birds are the craziest….just like most of my crafty friends. Ha! Would have to pick Becca as my best crafty friend right now…we are working on starting a card ministry at our church. Sandy, I love your work and your fun videos are inspiring and a bright spot in my day. Thank you!
Thank you for a chance to win a set of the pencils. So awesome. My best crafty friend is my MOM. She is a very talented lady.
Your creation is just awesome…love your take on the crazy birds. (And don’t enter me in the giveaway–I already love working with my Inktense pencils!)
My best crafty friend lives in Serbia and I live in Sweden. Her name is Jovana Djordjevic. We communicate every day and give advice to each other. I do not have a Inktense pencils but I would really like to try to work with them. Thanks for the chance to win this beautiful prize!!
Happy early birthday! Sounds like a fun time at the crafty retreat. I have a ‘flock’ of crafty friends so I can’t pick just one who love papercrafting especially scrapbooking and cardmaking. Thanks for sharing your Inktense pencils to celebrate your day with one of your fans…love how you make Tim’s Crazy Birds come to life-your coloring is the best I’ve seen of these images!
I craft a lot with my mom and thats why I am crafty in the first place. Also my best friend and I try to do crafty things when we are together like making her son a quiet activity book or decorations for her classroom.
I love the painting and the card. love how you colored the birds.
I was happy for you when I saw that you topped the blogworthy list on Tim Holtz’s blog. My best crafty friend is my Mom, but macular degeneration has stolen most of her sight. I’m lucky that there is a group of women here who get together about once a month. Other than that it’s cyber space and me, myself and I! I didn’t really like the crazy birds when they first came out, but now they are starting to grown on me. I’d LOVE to “inherit” your set of 12 Inktense!! I adore watercoloring and watercolor pencils, but don’t have any Inktense. So I’ve got my fingers crossed. Thanks for the chance and Happy almost Birthday!!
These birds are a hoot and your video just brought them to life! Tim Holtz “should” know your name…..!! You’re crazy talented!! All my crafty friends are in cyber land. I don’t have any local friends who craft.
Love what you did with the bird sets, the crafting bird friends are AWESOME! My best crafty friend is my mom, Lori 🙂 Not only am I lucky to have inherited some of her talent, she thinks everything I make is awesome!
My friends, Shelly and Judy, are the best!
Wow. The scene you created was so much fun!! I absolutely love watching you bring stamped images/blank paper to life. It is truly a gift and I am completely bowled over every time!!! Thank you so much for sharing!! Have fun at your craft retreat!! I just wanted to leave some love. No need to be entered into the giveaway.
I have 3 best crafty friends! my ‘daughter’ Julia, my sister Mary Ellen, and my BFF Laura. No way I could pick just one of them.
I love this! The birds are so cute!
