HOW did Black History Month not only sneak up on me but also end up nearly running past me!? Typically I make a fuss over a couple of diverse colorings here and on social media, but it’s been such a crazy month with things going haywire (I think the website is finally fixed!!), I hardly knew if I was coming or going.

And with this stamp set – I realized while recording the voiceover that I had made an oops – the “Sale” sign is on the INSIDE of the shop. As is the curtain on the door! ha! Well you can color the street on the outside if you win the stamp set, right? LOL!

I didn’t add the colors onto the screen for all of it, but here they all are in their fist of glory:

I just returned from my mini reunion with my college friends Mary Clare, Diana, Carol, and Cheryl. We call ourselves Woodsies (after St. Mary-of-the-Woods College) and were gimmicky and fun-loving teachers who think stamping and coloring is like making mini bulletin boards in the classroom. We now meet for our Medicare Birthday trip, late night talking, and fun excursions.
Love the card it was so helpful seeing you add the detail with the colored pencil. Your videos are so inspiring and watching a story unfold when you add a background. Love your online classes. Thank you
What a cute girlfriends card. My four pals would be Bonnie, Sharon, Maria and myself. Love, love your card making videos!!
The ladies are coming into the craft demo area to see their friend. I love to hear your thought processes. Your scenes always make the stamped image so alive.
I love doing different colour skin also. I’d put in Dymoon, Sharon, Brooke and myself. My crafty friends who encourage me in this fun hobby.
This is such a cute card! I love the backdrop – even though it is backward. I don’t think anyone would have noticed because your details are so terrific. I love Art Impressions stamps. They make some of the best out there.
Silly Sandy…..those women are re-entering the main part of the store after visiting the Sale Room!
I need to print a bunch of faces and make notations of skin and hair coloring. I have two red-headed grandchildren and I have notes on what markers and pencils I’ve used but it would make much more sense to do as you suggested. Their hair positively glows in sunlight and that isn’t something I’ve captured yet.
Love the human rainbow! Great idea for these stamps.
This stamp set and your card are so fun! My people would be my friends Stephanie, Ann, Gretchen, and Pam. We met in college 35 years ago and are friends for life. Our children are older than we were when we met!
Love this card! Always love the diversity you share in your coloring…and often learn a lot.
Hopefully, I will win the stamp. If not I will surely buy it.
Lovely card, I love Art Impression stamps! I love humor and it seems with cardmaking it’s harder to accomplish. Some of their saying do the work for me. I am organizer for a card club that I started 11 years ago and I have several ladies that I could make into the characters in the stamp. Joan could be the first one Gayla the second, Debra the third, but the fourth one looks like none of my ladies. Hmmm. Our group meets twice a month and we have a ball. Do your ears burn? We talk your talents and tricks for coloring all the time!
Love your coloring and videos! I’d include Carol, Cindy, Jeanette and Michelle.
I love your copic coloring videos. My group of friends to color would include Chris, Diane, Linda and Me. But the idea for daughters would be good also – I have 4 daughters Stacy, Kassandra, Bre and Alyssa.
Thank you for your wonderful videos – I love them all.
I have learned so much watching you the last few months. I love your colouring methods. This would be me, my two daughters Stephanie and Elyse and my sister Vi.
I would color this to represent 4 of the women in my card-making class, but we are currently a group of 9 so I’m not choosing individuals. LOL. Anyway, love the card!
A member of our card making class recently had a hip replacement surgery. I would like to send this card to her which would represent Shirley, Lynda, Barbara and myself coming to visit her.
Oh goodness..I don’t have that many close friends but..I do follow a blog where there are four friends for life that get together at least twice a year. I have always thought of finding a stamp to send her representing their friendship. This would be perfect. The friends are Becky, Brook, Gin-g and Ann.
This is so fun! This would be me and my sisters! We would be heading to the craft store!
Leota, Linda, Jane, and Clarice, my long-time card class friends. We’ve been having fun making cards eleven times a year since 2007. Hmmm…88 cards a year for nearly 13 years…that’s over a thousand cards!
So the lady in the front would have to be my friend Wendy – so outgoing with bright red hair! Others would be my oldest friend Gayle, plus Debbie and my 86 year old “roommate” that I take care of. That would certainly be a diverse group! I see them walking into a hair salon – that’s the impression I got when I first saw the card. Lots of hair care products for sale!
This looks like my college besties: Tia, Amy, Aimée, and Meg. Yes, we still get confused that Amy and Aimée have the same name! It’s time for a girls’ lunch out so this could be a great invitation to send them.
I love coloring these images and sending the cards to my mom! She has 3 sisters and I always try to make them look like them! Awesome coloring, Sandy!!! As usual!
I would make this card with 4 of my crafting girlfriends. Alison,Lynne,Jennie and Robin. We always find a way to make everything we do an adventure just like the girls on the stamp. Love this stamp!
Oh my I would have to say 4 friends who actually do not know each other would be such fun! My friend Jane who is a fellow knitter, my friend Kathy who I play board games with, my friend Alice who is a wonderful seamstress, and my friend Sandy who I have known since Elementary school.
My card would be my sister and I. And I would not have noticed your oops if you didn’t point it out.
Sandy, my friends are Barb, Vergene, Michelle & Maureen! We get together each week for a meal, for encouragement and to pray for each other. They are a true blessing in my life! Thanks for the great idea, Terri
I think I would have to color them as my prayer group: Lisa, Jeannie, Vicki and Me! We have prayed our children through ele. school, mid school, high school, colleges, marriages and sadly divorces; through good times and bad we have been there for each other. We have met every Monday morning for 20 years!!! Wow, I cannot even believe that myself. None of us live in the same place any longer but thanks to technology we can still be there even when we can’t be there!! I love these women more then I can find words to explain! God has blessed each of us with the others!! Thanks for this Sandy! I loved just looking at the stamp!!! Oh my if that is not us I don’t know what is! You always bless my heart with your videos!! Thanks so very kindly! Cindy
Your creativity never fails to amaze me. I always look forward to your videos.
I would color the girls as myself and my crafty friends and we would be walking into a craft sale. Thanks for the chance to win this cute set!
Your card is beautiful ! If you had not mentioned it, I would not have notice about the curtain and the sale sign. So maybe this is a special guest sale, and the official sale will start only tomorrow, so the sign will go out tomorrow too !
The friends I would draw on my card : that would be Clémentine, Dominique, another Isabelle and Laure. The shopping would be a great fun !
Love your artwork and videos with all the tips you give Art Impressions is one of my favorite companies.
Love your coloring!! I would love to color these as myself, my sister in law Karen, (who is like my sister), my niece (who is like my best friend), and my mother in law who I love like my own mother ( I lost my mother in 2014 and my mother in law has stepped right in )
You make the coloring look so effortless. I enjoy your reasoning of how you put down your colors. AI stamps are so great. I love their fun girlfriend stamp series. My gang of crafting friends are Phoebe,, Maureen, Audrey, Debbie and me. I love watching you create, you are a very talented lady.
LOVE your work in all mediums! Thank you and keep creating!
The colors are great. My tribe would be be me, Sherry, Sandy, Tammy and Teagan. We all love a good shop!
As always…amazing! I love to watch you color in Copics. You say you throw the colors on the card and then blend, but it always looks to purposeful! Thank you for the tutorial!! I would love to give this stamp a try.
Sandy, your work is so amazing! Yet you are such a great teacher and you give us the encouragement that we can do it too. I love the way you do your skin tones. You give your subjects ‘souls’ sorta speak. Thank you for sharing.
My girlfriends are Susan, Linda, Ginger and Juanita. I love watching you work with my two favorite mediums. Looks of good teaching moments here. You are simply the best Sandy!
Such a cute card and stamp set. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Sandy, i love the Art Impressions Girlfriends stamps. Especially when they use “real women”. Like my friends Penni average height very energetic and a bubbly laugh to match her curly hair. Then we have Gerri, she is a bhhndle of laughs, shortest in our group, but always has the brightest most colourful hair. Then Lori she’s the tallest, and she is so sweet she would give you her last remaining dollar. She loooves dogs and cats sooo much. Lastly but not the least is Mel she also has wild and extra curly hair, as well as being a dog lover. She is the skinniest of the group. But we all love to craft and colour and laugh and craft and drink wine did i say craft?
My friends are are Anita, me, Melody and Linda. These girlfriends look like they have so much fun together. Tfs.
What a lovely card! I am in awe of your talent. My pals would be my best friends Diane and Laurie and my sister Margie, all of whom I share something special with. Thanks for sharing!
What an adorable stamp set!! I would color them like my mom and her friends!!
I love this idea Sandy! I would do them as four of my closest girlfriends, Louise, Valma, Theresa and Plum. When we still lived in the city, I would have them over at our place for brunch every couple of months. We would start at 9.30am and finish at 5.30pm! My husband would always wonder what we could possibly talk about for so many hours! I love them and I miss them.
Watching you color is so relaxing. I have a few girlfriend stamps and I love them. They are fun to color and make cards for friends.
My daughter, Kim, my dil Jen, my sister, Nancy and my sil Dot. Its nice to know you are human and occasionally are not perfect. But to be honest, I would have never noticed if you hadn’t pointed it out.
My friends are are Anita, me, Melody and Linda. These girlfriends look like they have so much fun together. Tfs.
