It’s time for the last week of the Summer of Stamping – let’s go out with a bang! Julie’s come up with something I’d hoped she would – another size in the Voices in my Head series!!! This is a bloghop too, so be sure to scroll down to the end to see what else folks are doing with these sets.
There are a couple stamp sets and you’ll see them in my cards today….one with the hair and faces, one with accessories, and one with sentiments that are VERY timely for where we are in the world right now.

- Mini Voices In my head, Essentials By Ellen Clear Stamps
- Voices in my head sentiments vol 3, Essentials By Ellen Clear Stamps
- Voices in my head accessories, Essentials By Ellen Clear Stamps
- Combo of all three
Both of mine are “concept” cards – I took the sentiment seriously about missing the faces of my friends! Check them out in the video:
Miss Your Face
This is the simpler of the two – all about missing the chance to see their faces and smiles! We do a few things together on occasion but with masks and distance, and I do miss getting my normal unencumbered time with them.

I stamped all the hair stamps close together in a rectangle on watercolor paper, then drew in my own masks and eyes. Some simple watercoloring, then I tried painting a color around the “framed” picture – just by using up leftover paint in my palette. My camera cut off during that time, so I’ll try that technique again sometime on another card so you can see how I accomplished it.

The inside sentiment is SO hilarious, and says exactly what I want to say!

Let it Grow Magazine Card
This is the card no one else will be silly enough to make, but since I filmed it (thinking it was gonna be easier, ha!), I included it! I saw all the hairstyles in the set, and thought it’d be fun to make one of those magazines you flip through at the salon to choose a hair style or color – except now it’d have best hair styles to look awesome in a mask!

I started by creating the main rectangles of the cover and inside spread, and making a grid that would fit the small faces. I stamped the hair into each square, used several stamp sets to create the “cover” (Voices in My Head, Grow, and Let It) – then started the doodling with a pen!

This stamp set inside couldn’t be more PERFECT for this card – we must be growing like mad right now (not just our hair!) after all we’re going through!

I love how you adapted the original Voices in My Head girl for your card. So very creative. Your colouring is amazing (as usual!) Thank you for your inspiration. *love*
Sandy, I love your posts! You have the best sense of humor. You put a smile on my face!
As always, your artistry is amazing. I love both cards!!
These cards are fun and funny. They are also topical to the times. Thanks for the laughs!
Love this card…especially now. I like your hair longer, very pretty!

Your cards are amazing!! I was in awe over the magazine style card and even showed my husband. You are so talented!! I wish I had a tenth of the talent you have. I can hardly come up with a simple card without seeing an example!!
I love all the cards and the new stamp sets! Such a good idea for your quarantine cards!
I LOVE your cards! Your friends are going to be thrilled when they get theirs! Your magazine card is so spot on! If I were to get it I would frame it!
You make water-colouring look so easy, I am going to have to give it a try!
#MasksAre Sexy! Spread the word!
Love both of your cards, but that magazine cover card is priceless! Great coloring! I agree about the hair salons. I have resigned myself to waiting until sometime next year beforeI visit a salon. Have been investing in a lot of hair cover (like turbans and slouchy beanies)!
OMG Sandy, your cards are the best in the industry! I just love your coloring!!!!!! Thanks for the awesome opportunity to win this card!!!! I just placed my EH order!!!!! ❤️
My hair has gone so gray and the root color that isn’t gray is darker than my colored hair is. It is a hot mess and this card so spoke to me. Love the magazine idea and super cute layout!
Oh my gosh, your creativity is always amazing. I think I need this combo set!
Those cards are so adorable! Love the magazine cover! Clever!
Would love to win this card.
I had to reschedule my haircut 3 times but I’m starting to like my hair a little longer than normal. These cards are adorable! Thanks.
Great cards! Haven’t had a hair cut either. My hair was always long and I have wondered just what it would look like long now and figured, why not find out? Feel the same about venturing out for those things, eventually, but not yet.
Love both of the cards! The hairstyle magazine is my favorite!
Both cards are amazing. The magazine one is such a great idea. I love how they both turned out. Keep smiling!
What fun and happy cards! You always inspire us to do the unexpected…Thanks
Your cards are fabulous, I love the square one with the “magazine” cover! Such fun and timely stamp sets.
I’m with you, not interested in going to the hair stylist or dentist or eye doctor. Hopefully sometime this fall…so I’ll have quite the grow out line in my hair LOL!
Your card made me laugh because it’s so fun and creative. Thank you for the smile today.
I am letting it grow Sandy. We share the same views about getting haircuts and teeth cleanings. Hate the thought of someone being in my face on a good day and with the virus spreading like wildfire I cringe at the thought of getting a haircut these days. Cute card that you have created. I draw on your examples whenever card-making. Virtual hugs to you!!
Absolutely adorable card! Thank you, once again for offering something unique in an industry where there is so much redundancy. Your efforts are appreciated!
Hi Sandy! The Let it Grow is perfect! A happy, cheerful guide through the times. Thanks for sharing your humor, art, and kindness.
Fabulous cards!
I love the “LET IT GROW” magazine idea! I’m letting it grow also…
Love this idea! The sentiments are so fun!
These cards are absolutely beautiful! So inspirational and I love them. You sure are one AMAZING artist!!!!
When the beauty shops were opened, I got
my bangs trimmed but let the rest grow.
Love the sentiments about the hair – so
appropriate for me. Thanks for sharing

You are amazing Sandy! Love these designs and your watercolor approach to skin tones. Indeed, masks add a little mystique … I would by that magazine! We are style under confinement around here and my hair do is stuck on the messy pony tail ♀️, for once I am not worrying about my frizzy summer style Thanks for the inspiration, have a great day!
Gorgeous cards and colors!
Very clever with the mask on the faces!
Such cute creative cards Sandy. Can’t wait to see Friday’s cards
Sandy,
I love how you take a stamp and make it your own. You are so talented!
Fabulous cards! Love the stamp sets.
These cards are fantastic!! I love the Voices in My Head sentiments!
I love the coloring on both cards. After seeing this I need to get out my watercolors and start coloring. Thank you for sharing.
i love these cards. gotta go buy that set. I agree with you, i’m working from home and no no one needs to see my hair, I wear a hat if I leave my condo. I’m growing out my grey hair, want to see just how much I have. will wait to do something with my hair after I have to go back to the office!
Very creative as always!
So cute and clever. I especially love the sayings. They are timely and right on cue.
Great humor in your “magazine” card.
Wow! Your work always amazes me!
Such fun cards and ideas using these new sets! Friday’s sneak looks like a snapshot of what’s going on these days for real!
Oh my gosh, Sandy! These are leave me speechless!!
Sorry…these cards leave me speechless!
Sandy, you are so right. Masks are sexy! They draw attention to the eyes. AND safe IS sexy!
My stylist and I both wore masks during my hair but now I kinda regret cutting it off…
Sandy I love both of your concept cards. I need to practice doodling masks
That’s a fun alteration from the original set!
