Negative Coloring in colored pencil

October 18, 2017 by Sandy Allnock 307 Comments Filed Under: Colored Pencils

Sometimes ya gotta love CAS cards that are florals AND have an easy technique – because who doesn’t love flowers, right? This “negative” coloring technique isn’t negative at all…just color around the stamps!

Supplies for this project are linked at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no cost to you.

I made a set of these with slightly different layouts, just turning the flower stamp different directions and stamping the sentiments in different places.

For some, the secondary sentiment is stamped directly at the bottom…

…other times just one sentiment will do…

…and of course dimensional adhesive for a secondary sentiment adds a little something special to the card!

Beautiful cards! I love the soft colours and the blending in the negative space around the flowers. I also really like how you switched it up by changing the image position. Thanks for sharing your crafty friends story with us!
