We all want our whites to look white…not just our socks, either! There are a lot of different ways to color something to make the white pop, so today we’ll compare white pens and other mediums to see how they all look on desert storm cardstock.
The stamp set is a brand new one from Avery Elle – it comes with a couple of the cloud sentiments, so it works great for a variety of types of cards. Enjoy the video – and be sure to stay tuned to the end for the list of winners of my 10,000 subscriber giveaway a few weeks ago! Watch the video below, or click HERE to watch it in HD on YouTube.
Compare white pens and more
It was fun to play around with all of these white mediums – I had always wondered how they’d do in a head-to-head test. Each one has its place though; even though I don’t use the Sakura very often, and the comparison made it look like it lost – the pen makes a thin enough line that sometimes I pull it out to make a super-thin white line. One pen I didn’t include is Ranger’s Inkssentials…I have a dozen in my drawer that don’t work consistently, so I don’t tend to even think to pull it out to try. But I’m glad I did finally compare white pens and other mediums that are in my little pen cup!
I enjoyed trying different Copic Marker colors to create a variety of planes as well…and each of the winners in the giveaway will receive one of them! Woohoo!

Congrats to all the winners.
This is really awesome could watch your colouring for hours. Congrats to all the winners Lucky ladies!!!!!!!
Congrats to the winners! Very lucky ladies. I would just love one of those cards, LOL. So glad you are back safe & sound and I am quite anxious to hear all about it. I am enjoying some of your past videos. You are so very talented. I watched the video you shared of you growing up wanting to be an artist someday. Reminded me of my daughter. She said that BEFORE she turned 5 and DID go to art school as well. Although she can paint and draw beautifully, she decided to major in metal-smithing and has become a jewellery designer. I love making cards but she did NOT get her talent from me! HAHA ….Keep those videos coming.
Thanks for the comparisons of the white pens!! I’ve been getting very frustrated with my white gelly roll pen. Looks like I’m going to have to give the signo broad pen a try!! And YEAH!!! So excited to see my YouTube handle (DoofyJEss2) scroll by as a winner of your giveaway!! Thank you so much for your generosity and congrats on achieving such a HUGE milestone!! I absolutely love watching you bring your projects to life with your amazing coloring!!
Great information in this video. Love that you do some of the work for us by doing these comparisons. Glad you are home safe and I am sure the kitties are too. Congratulations to the winners. Cannot wait to see your pictures. TFS
Congrats to the winners. Love the cards and this stamp set and seeing the comparisons of the different whites.. TFS
Thanks for the comparisons and technique tips Sandy!! I love my signo white gel pen but don’t use it often. Off to email and SO excited to see my name as one of the winners! Welcome back!
Fantastic, I love ideas on how to color on kraft, thanks for all the tips. Congrats to all the winners!!
This exercise was very useful…this white thing has been nagging me for some time. Now I know. BTW, those cards are really adorable. Congrats to your winners.
Congratulations to those lucky 10 these cards are amazing!
I do compare products when I have multiple items that are supposed to work the same. I haven’t had any success with UniBall (and I have bought/tried quiet a few).
If you spray the card with a quick spritz of hair spray, the chalky spray (or any chalks) won’t rub off.
I meant WHITES are tough…
Such a great comparison of using whites! Thanks so much for all that you share, Sandy! So happy that you are home safely. It was such fun to travel along with you on Instagram! Can’t wait to hear all about your adventures. Now you can begin planning your next European adventure. Travel is the BEST… but it’s always wonderful to come home again! There’s no place like home! ♡
such a super card set..CONGRATS to the winners!
hope you feel better soon…and settling in after your big trip…
Congrats to the lucky winners and thanks for this comparison. I agree with Gini K–I don’t have luck with the signo uniball but my gelly roll works great and it is much older.
Sandy – thanks for the experiments with white! I know everyone loves the Signo Uniball white pens, but I’ve never had any luck with them – must’ve owned a half dozen thru the years… I’ve been doing okay with that little Gelly Roll pen, tho – for me, it looks almost the same. Maybe I hold ’em wrong or something! I am in total agreement, however, with that Avery Elle stamp set – MUST have the little airplane and puffy sentiments! Hadn’t seen it yet, so thank you for using it!!!
Oh yeah – and Welcome Home – we missed you like crazy!
Fabulous job with the showing different whites. I am trying to improve on that technique so thanks for sharing this video.
White are tough, but your comparison was very helpful. Welcome home…
Awesome. I love the comparison of products! Glad you are back!
