Today I have some fun coloring in colored pencil to share – and new stamps and dies from Catherine Pooler!

Thanks to Catherine for sending me these new toys to play with – now I’m ready for birthday cards galore! (I haven’t been keeping up so I really need to add more to the stash!) Check out the simple coloring with just two colored pencils!
I used Polychromos pencils – but you can totally do this with any brand of good pencils that lays down enough white. (I can’t vouch for some of the Crayolas, etc to have enough pigment to show up.) The key will be having soft-surface papers, they work well with colored pencils – not shiny cardstocks.

After diecutting the sentiment, I tapped a white ink pad onto the words before nesting them back in – so it stood out nicely. Lots easier than just coloring it with a pencil, eh? Add some fun new sequins and round the corners and the design is done!

Since the back of the front panel of the card had all the scotch tape on it to nest the die, I lined both sides of the inside with layers. Ba da boom ba da bing!

Really cool! thank you.
Fabulous card and great tutorial Sandy. Also great tip to use scotch tape in the opening to tape the sentiment back. I normally use liquid glue and sometimes there just peeps something out and is not always easy to remove, tape is the answer!
Thank you so much for sharing, stay safe and have a wonderful day.
These balloons are so cool! And this new release is very fun!
Beautiful!! I love the look of the transparent balloons! And thanks for the tips on doing the highlight. I will be trying your technique!
Totally Amazing!!!! TFS Sandy…I always learn something when I watch your videos!
P.S. I have tried ALL the glues – all with clogging problems – until I tried Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue in the green and white bottle… the tip is perfect and it NEVER clogs on me. I just pinch off any glue left on the tip before putting on the lid and I store it upside down so it is always ready to come out of bottle to dot on or squeeze lots out. The glue hold well too!

Love the look of these clear balloons! Looks like sheer (haha) fun to do! Lots of summer birthdays in my family/friends circle, so this idea will get lots of mileage. Thank you!
