Pencil pencil pencil! I get so many comments from giddy pencil-lovers when I put together a post using my Prismacolors…so here’s a tag for you! (And check out the Pencil Gallery Mini Glossy Accents.)
I originally planned a one-layer tag- using white pencil for skate highlights. Which would have worked. But then I realized that if I *only* fussycut the skates, the white could really pop! It’s adhered with just some stamp runner, or you could add dimension under it too.

The tag is loosely tied by letting a few spirals of ribbon pass through the hole at the top of the tag.

I am quite happy you chose to do some coloring with the pencils. In particular the Prismacolor pencils. I won a class from Kit and Clowder…BTW, do you know what a clowder is. If not you should check it out. I think you will like what you find! I chose a colored pencil class and am so excited to get started!! You might be wondering why I chose the Scholar pencils instead of the Premier pencils. The price point was a bit better from Amazon…60 pencils for $25 . And since I am just a beginner it seemed a good choice. Plus for the most part the Scholar pencils had good reviews. Have you had any experience with the Scholar pencils? Anyways, as I was looking through my email my Prismacolor Scholar colored pencils arrived at my door via UPS which was a surprise as I thought they were coming via USPS…hah! So, I have not even opened the box yet…I LOVE the ANTICIPATION…LOL!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the ice skates tag and how you formed the tab. You are truly enticing me to make tags, even though as I expressed to you before that I am not a tag maker. I think it will give me some good practice with my pencils, also!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Beth
Lovely, bravo for your creativity
Another beautiful tag! Thanks Sandy for all you do, how you teach us and share your love of the Lord and of crafting! Love and kindness–most important! Happy Veteran’s day!
Love the pencils on kraft! Beautiful tag.
These are just fantastic Sanday, a lovely job as always!
Beautiful tag. I love anything on kraft.
Love those ice skates and the tag you created. So cute.
Oh my!!! This tag is simply adorable!!!
Gorgeous! Now I want Prismacolor pencils for Christmas! The skates stand out so well against the kraft colored cardstock. So elegant, and the loop on the top…genius…I’ll have to steal that trick 🙂
Nice tag.Thank you for sharing your ideas 🙂
Hooray! As one of those giddy pencil lovers, thanks so much! You’re the best, Sandy!!!
I don’t enjoy working with colored pencils – but I do enjoy seeing the effects that some artists can achieve with them – and your skates are truly beautiful!
How awesome is this … very awesome.
I’m always a big fan of ‘kraft’ anything and this tag is awesome!
Love this tag, believe it to be my favorite so far. Thanks for all the lovely ideas MN
Hi Sandy,
I love this tag with the skates. You used a perfecting pairing of contrasting colors and memories. Who would think that using red ink for the stamp outline on craft paper would become such an elegant looking tag. The picture of ice skates brings back warm childhood memories of the holidays for me. The colors you used make the whole tag just pop off the page and grab your attention while stirring those warm memories making it a piece of nostalgic elegance. The end result is an awesome tag that will be liked by all who see it, young and old, no matter what the gender or background. Great job creating this beautiful tag. Thanks for sharing this with us.

You’re fantastic as always!
These tags are great. I love the dimension you gave to the skates using white cardstock onto the desert storm cardstock. Very nice.
Great job, I can’t believe how great the skates look!
Besides learning technique from you, I love that after watching your videos, I look at the stamps that I have and see new possibilities. I wouldn’t have thought of fussy cutting the skates but I love the contrast this provided. Thanks for all you share.
Adorable! I love this tag! The colored pencil was perfect here.
I love this. Always a different option. Colored pencils who nu??? Beautifully done as well.
I am so impressed that you would take the trouble to fussy cut the skates! /sigh…just one more skill to work on, although I have strong doubts that I will ever enjoy that part of the process! Thanks for these. Love the coloring.
Very classy tag! I love these warm colors.
Lovely skates tag and matching bag!
I always learn so much when I watch your videos – no exception this time! Lovely tag with great subtle detail!
Great video. Such a BEAUTIFUL stunning tag, love it!
Oh, Sandy! I just love the festive, old-fashioned charm of this tag! It looks just lovely with the coordinated gift bag. Ice skating is one of my favorite childhood memories. Now I always hang my ‘vintage’ ice skates on a sled on our front porch all winter long! Happy Veterans’ Day, dear Sandy! ♡
I love how the coloring looks on the Desert Storm card stock. So cool looking! I have thoroughly enjoyed watching these tag videos every morning. Happy Veterans’s Day!
Gorgeous image and coloring!
Just love these tags, gorgeous and what a great idea with the loop; thanks for sharing.
All of your Christmas tags have been wonderful & I like the variety of themes & techniques that you’ve used. Thanks for all the great inspiration!
Korgis, what type of writing did you use to make the bag images so crisp? Was it versafine?
STUNNING!
LOVE this!!! I’m so happy to see such a pretty old-fashioned looking tag! l’m enjoying your 24 tags series so very much again this year. Happy Veterans Day to my favorite supporter of vets. From….a vet, enjoying this day.
I love how the bag matches the tag. We all love the ice skates. Nicely done. I love it.
Beautiful and old-fashioned. Love how you fussy cut the skates for the “pop” effect.
Oh, so pretty! Love these skates!
Love all the tags, wish you could keep doing more, such good idea to give to people, everyone needs tags…I really love the skates..my niece figure skated when she was young so I’m sure she would really love it
Another masterpiece. So many great ideas in one tag from the way you cut it out, the white skates added & the closure. And of course the coloring.
Just lovely!
Another gorgeous tag.
Beautiful. The white skates really do pop and I love the loop at the top.
I love how cutting out the skate in white really made it pop!
Love the loop idea on the tag and how you secure it to the bag.
Great tag, like how softly you coloured in the skates. Nice technique cutting the skates out, really does make the tag stand out. Thanks Sandy.
Very nice! As always, your treatment of light and how you create dimension is fabulous.
Awesome tag. You never stop amazing me.
Sandy, these tags are simply lovely and elegant! What an easy way to create some great tags. You could also shorten the top instead of making a loop and use this as a focal point on a card. I am really impressed on how the blades of the skates really appear to be metal. Thanks for sharing this technique (as well as ALL the techniques you share.).
I love the soft, quiet look of the skates on the desert storm cardstock – just right for a “grown up” gift!. The tip about making a loop on top of a tag is a winner, also! Thanks for the great ideas.
You brought me back to warm childhood memories with this tag. Love using the colored pencils. This tag is perfect love it ❤️❤️❤️❤️
