Yappy Happy Trifold Card – Heffy Doodle Hop

June 13, 2018 by Sandy Allnock 91 Comments [featured_image}

I want to wish a Yappy Happy 1st Birthday to everyone at Heffy Doodle! Can you believe it’s been a year!? I’m always proud of companies celebrating the milestones – it’s really hard to stay in business nowadays, and if they can withstand the pressures, they deserve the kudos! Be sure to scroll down to read how to join in the hop and qualify for awesome prizes!!

Yappy Happy Trifold Card

When asked if I’d participate, I saw this cute puppy stamp set – oh my! Dogs AND mail? Yeah bring it on! The dog in the middle panel “needed” to leap in the air, and I decided my card would be going “From” a US postal mailbox all the way across the pond – so it’ll be my sister’s birthday card when it comes round! Watch the video below or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube.

The trifold card format was fun for something with a little change. I love the little pup trying to open the box at the end – lol. That’s my G – our box from Chewy just arrived and he probably would have opened it himself if I’d let him. LOL!

To make the card base, I used two strips of 4-1/4″ cardstock – each had two square panels, and they overlap in that middle panel. If you have 12×12 cardstock you could do this more easily, just make the panels 4″ instead, but since I can’t remember the last time I had any 12×12, I made do with what I have on my cardstock shelf.

Hex Charts!

In case you’ve missed it….there are now four hex charts available! Copic has been around a while but now there are 3 brands of colored pencil. (Note that there won’t be watercolor or watercolor pencil charts – we can’t run watercolor paper through our home printers or use waterproof ink.) All charts are HERE.

And on Friday, the Colored Pencil Jumpstart Class content will be available! You can sign up for class now or then and I’ll remind you here on the blog on Friday to pop over this weekend to start learning. (You can join in class ANYtime, there’s nothing live that you need to be there for.) Note that I’ve added some things to the PreClass (click on Curriculum) – like the discount for stamps, and info on hex charts. 🙂

And now…the Bloghop!!

Two lucky winners will receive a £50 voucher to the Heffy Doodle store. Leave a comment on each stop to qualify. Comment eligibility will close on 6/23/2018 at 12pm PDT; winners will be announced on June 24th on the Heffy Doodle Blog.

You can receive 20% off your order with my code : HeffyBirthday2u …Coupon is only available on from June 13th -June 17th!

    Loving the yappy mail idea lots x Happy Birthday to your sister when it comes around x Ou r British post boxes have, most the time, a white rectangle on the box that tells you the route number, the area where the box is and the times and days of collections, so you were right in thinking it was a sign x

    Sandy, you are such a font of talent, but even more special to me is your gift for teaching. I love the things you make, and I love how inspired I am to go and create when I watch your videos. Thank you so much for sharing this lovely card idea and your fixes for things you don’t like. We and HD are lucky to have you as part of this birthday celebration.

    Your card is adorable ! I’m sure your sister will love it. Dogs are the best to deliver happy wishes.

    On the panel in front of the English mailbox, there is the timetable telling you when the postman is coming to pick-up the mail.

        Thanks for your answer Sandy, because I read in the discription for the classes that you have downloads for practice etc. I thought perhaps the chart are with those downloads.

    Sandy, my love of animals (20 plus years in veterinary medicine) combined with ANY chance I get to “send mail” type cards to my granddaughter is a HUGE win-win in my book! So, thank you for your wonderful inspiration! ❤
