Welcome to my stop on the Colorado Craft Company Bloghop! I’m so grateful to Amy for sharing the new release with me so I could play along – and give you some great ideas for using it! I chose to go really simple, partly because my RSI (repetitive stress injury to my hand) was acting up the day I was shooting. These were simple to create with using some Artist tape and a little plastic TSquare to keep things straight. (straight-ish at least!)
My video shows two of the stamps but keep scrolling to see some more stripes samples – and the hop info!

For the tutorial – I made a Mother’s Day and Father’s Day card with the simplest of watercolor techniques – making easy stripes! It’s even easier than a solid background, you know why? Because you only need to manage the water on one stripe at a time! Simple! I’m using Daniel Smith watercolors but you can use anything for this – even make a puddle of thin, watered-down color out of ink pads or reinkers! Watch below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.

For Dad
Dad’s set has multiple sentiments to use – and I can totally see this stamp set for a Christmas card with a fireplace in the background, stockings hung and ready for Santa…… the little heart on my card filled in an awkward white space, it’s a really old metal ‘sticker.’

The inside of the card can match the outside too – super easy to do, as well! If you plan to do this you might try doing the inside first since you don’t need to paint around anything – warm up to it!

Amazing Mom
This mom stamp set is pretty sweet – and I love that they’ve given us so many sentiments so it’s not just for Mother’s Day – you can make cards all year for your Mom with this set, or for those new moms you know!

The inside panel’s stripes are the same height as the front for continuity!

More samples – more simple stripes!
I’ve created samples for the rest of the release with stripes painted with stamps – some a little harder than the video, but not by a lo!
For Mom, Mom Names
There’s another set to celebrate the women in your life – like pampered kitty queens! I used the same masking tape to make little stripes this time. I also limited myself to Quinacridone Rose and New Gamboge throughout the whole card. Cute huh? The “sister” is from the Mom Names set.

Dad’s Cooking, Dad Names
My dad was a cook, but only of a few items. Pancakes were one of them, though I don’t think he ever tossed any in the air! But a cat dad might pull it off…lol! I started by taping off stripes on the floor…then built a cabinet…and by then I was thinking about where they keep the glasses so had to do hanging cabinets….and of course a window! You can make all kinds of scenes with simple tape masking!

Love Art
CCC makes artist critters in their stamps – and there are two stamps in this set, one of which I used here – I used some tapes to create a canvas to paint in stripes!

Proud of you
This little stamp is so cute with all the critters together partying! There are graduation stamps here but – you can use this set all year round. I’ll be coloring this one with Copics soon! The background was made with stripes but layered them over and over til it was a forest just needing a couple branches!

Thank you so much for showing how to do those yummy stipes…they are amazing and certainly make a beautiful backdrop for these stamps. I know it is something I am going to try. AND don’t you just love the Anita Jeram stamps? I have every stamp since that very first release! They are just so much fun to color and all your designs were so inspiring!!! I had to sign up for your blog since I know you are going to teach me some amazing techniques!!!!
Sandy, love these cards made easy with the new Anita Jeram’s release. All your cards and projects are wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
The Dad set with son jumping on dad that’s my fav image. I love how you inspire us with simple, non-intimidating watercolour techniques. This one is very quick and easy
Oh my goodness! Love this so much! So cute, kinda retro, and not too involved! My kind of card making! Loving the “Love Art” set! And the techniques! Thanks,Sandy!
Such a creative different pallet background. In love! And 3C new release is a show stopper
Beautiful! I love how the background details means that uncolored stamps look AWESOME!
I love your art work! Inspirational.
Great job…love the look!
Love how all the critters are dancing in “proud of you” but then again, how can I not love a painting mouse??? thanks as always for sharing.
Wow, that’s a quick, fun way to make a really easy background. I really like the Mom with a stroller stamp and the For Mom stamp too. I think the Dad in the chair stamp is cute and I like all of Anita Jeram’s line of stamps; however, for some reason that mouse climbing on his dad kind of creeps me out – It is the first time that one of her stamps actually made me think of a real mouse! LOL. It would make a cute Dad’s day or dad’s birthday card though. Thanks for joining in on the hop and giving us an opportunity to win a prize.
You always make these backgrounds look so simple to achieve. Thanks for sharing your creativity with these adorable stamp sets.
Loving the new release, something for everyone and the styles are just amazing, thank you. Love Jane x
Fantastic cards! I am loving the simplicity of the first two, but my favorite is the last one, that set is my favorite from the release and I love the drama of the painted top background against the plain bottom.
Wow, great tutorial, and great cards! Love the stripe technique! My favorite is the Love Art set.
Great cards, Sandy! I love the simple stripe background on your first cards and the other clever card designs. Thanks so much for the great inspiration! Stay safe and I hope your RSI is ok! 🙂
Really great cards Sandy!
Love all of these… each is unique in its own way. Thank you for the great tutorial too.
Hiya Sandy. Happy Sunday.
I love all these cards, the first 2 look easy enough for me to try. I love the scenes of the others. I must admit to being absolutely rubbish at doing scenes, I just can’t get them in proportion . Thank you for all the inspiration X X
Easy , I don’t think it would be that easy to paint such lovely strips .Your cards are always amazing ,have a story to tell..as you build wonderful scenes around the main images.I enjoy watching your video whenever I can. Thanks for sharing generously with us.
Sandy, thanks for the wonderful tutorial on such a great technique. Love these adorable stamps.
Speechless. Each card looks like a magazine cover. I LOVE the stripes 9n all of them and certainly will try this. My fav has been the kitty in the bed stamp and now with the wallpaper, even cuter! Live these so much!
I love anything with black cardstock! So beautiful!
Hi, Sandy – You always have such terrific, pragmatic advice.
Your cards (all of them) are fabulous. Love the stripe- painting technique and the finished result is so dear!
This is a tough choice. I think the Love Art set is my favorite. I love the quotes around the edge. I also like “Amazing Mom” a lot. I also love the little tiny “The Artist” stamp.

Great ideas and techniques. I liked all of you cards
Your coloring techniques/stripes are amazing! Such great details . Thank you for sharing!
I love how you have so many different skill levels! I love the projects I know I can do, as well as the ones I aspire to do. Thank you for your inspirations and encouragement to learn and grow as an artist!
I love all of your cards, especially the first two simple watercoloring. What a great ideo! Thanks for the great YouTube video too. I love this CCC and Anita Jeram release. My favorite stamp set is Love Art, but I adore it all!!! Thanks for sharing!
Sandy your cards are amazing. I love this technique, so simple-perfect with these stamps. I love the new release from Anita Jeram and Colorado Craft Company. Dad’s Cooking is my favorite stamp set. That set reminds me of all the really good pancake breakfasts my dad use to make for my brother and I. -Happy Memories!
Love how you created these cards with the watercolors. The first two with the black and white stamping are wonderful!
Adorable cards, Sandy. I tend to gravitate toward more complex cards because I like to color, but there are times when I need to make a quick, simple card or a simple card is just more appropriate. More darling stamps….oh, my….how to choose….
Sometimes I like to do simple cards too. But when I get my watercolours out, I usually add details. When I go simple I most often do die cutting or heat embossing.
Hi! Thanks for the opportunity to win a gift card from Colorado Crafts! My favorite stamp set is the Father’s Day w/ little one bouncing on daddy’s belly because it reminds me of when our son was younger & he & daddy would wrestle nightly!! I heard a lot of laughing from both ! Wonderful memories we all cherish!! Many Blessings, Tina Wetzel
These are too cute and super easy! I look forward to your emails so I can learn something new and inspirational !!!
Love the simplicity….will give this water color a try!!!
Wowzers, you’ve done a fantastic job colouring and adding “backgrounds” to the images! So creative
Your cards are adorable! The stripe backgrounds are amazing. Loved the video as I’m new to watercoloring so very helpful.
Oh My Gosh! This whole Colorado Craft Company release is so uplifting, and what do we need more than anything right now…but the Love Art set really captures the feeling of fellowship and community we share as artists and papercrafters, so if I have to choose, this one is my fave. (I’ll be getting all of them, though) Thank you for sharing the tapestripe and watercolor techniques – so distinct and yet, both are so lovely!
Love Art has to be my favourite…. but your technique with the strips is now on my ‘need to try’ list.
Such great tips on painting background stripes. I’m going to give it a try! Love these stamps from CCC. My favorite is Proud of You.
I loved your video, your watercoloring, your tips and your art. Of course Anita Jeram gets a shout out too! I love all the sets. I fell in love with Love Art first, but as the blog goes on I’m loving all the sets! Your vide is terrific too!!! Love those stripes and all the ways you incorporated them within the other cards.
Nice technique for creating backgrounds. All of your cards are great!
Thank you for sharing easy but beautiful cards to be proud to give. Bought the tape immediately and can’t wait for it to be delivered. Thank you, again!
Brilliantly easy. Love just the black outline with the stripes!
Love the way you make watercolor look so easy – with that big brush, I’d have painted the whole mouse, but I feel inspired to try this technique and just see … 🙂
Love the idea of not coloring the stamps but
color the background. You never know if
the card is going to be appreciated so lots
of coloring effort is not always necessary.
The cards are all wonderful. thanks for
sharing. txmlhl(at)yahoo(dot)com
aaw these mice are kitties are just too cute – lovely work:)
I just love this latest release; it’s so hard to chose a favorite! Your card designs are inspiring, as always! I really like that you explain how you choose the design background & details, like the stripes and heart to take up space. Thanks for sharing!
I love how you use backgrounds. It really sets your cards apart from the rest!
Love them all. Wish I was the little kitty tucked up with breakfast in bed. ❤️
Each of your cards is a masterpiece in itself. I want to climb into bed with the pampered cat. A very cozy setting. It is so difficult to chose a favorite from so many gorgeous sets.
