24 Tags of Christmas 2015: Copic on Wood

November 10, 2015 by Sandy Allnock 99 Comments Filed Under: 24 Tags of Christmas, Copic Intermediate

Welcome to the 24 tags of Christmas series for 2015! It’s Day Two with another four tags – check out yesterday’s watercoloring!

Copic on Wood

I’ve been wanting to play with this wood paper for quite some time – and I was delighted to see that my Copic markers worked on it! I’ll be experimenting with more elaborate images in the future. Check out the video below, or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube!

These tags would be so perfect to attach to a plate of Christmas cookies and deliver to neighbors. What? You don’t know your neighbors? Well last holiday season I decided to change that in my own life…I baked cookies and made plates of them, then attached handmade tags. Delivered to stunned neighbors! One even invited me in for a cup of cider. Give it a go and see if you can break the ice with people living down the street!

Sandy Allnock 24 Tags Copic on Wood

 Giveaway

Handmade is the best kind of giveaway! Each year I give away all of the tags made in the series – so there will be 24 winners! To sweeten the pot, I am giving a financial donation to 24 charities in the name of each of the winners – so they’re going to get to pick which charity they love most.  To qualify to win, leave a comment on this post with YOUR favorite charity, and a comment on the YT video each day all week. I’ll pick 12 from blog comments and 12 from YouTube comments, and announce them all on Sunday the 15th!

These tags are so warm and cozy looking and make me think of baking and hot apple cider! I have never even thought to stamp and color on wood and am going to have to check these out. Of course, my coloring isn’t going to be as amazing as yours but I’m trying not to let that intimidate me! My favorite charity is the Bay Area Rescue Mission in Richmond, CA

These are so attractive and so easy to make! I really like the idea of the wood paper and will be giving it a try. I have to name two charities (sorry!) that are special to me:one is Outreach International, which helps communities around the world create their own solutions to problems of hunger, finding clean water, shelter, health, and education; the other is Canine Companions for Independence, a great organization that raises, trains and provides fantastic service dogs.

I know your middle name now —- Sandy Out-of-the-Box Allnock. What a great name you are living up to and great idea to use the wood paper! The Charity that I choose is Ronald McDonald House house in Gainesville, Florida. Ronald began them and doe provide support but they rely on donation to complete their mission of providing food and housing to families with a child that is hospitalized. Living in a remote area, and missing work to be with a child, and then leaving a family behind to stay with the child and having to eat out and get a motel is beyond normal challenges. The charity is worthwhile to any family needing this support.
