Welcome to the 24 tags of Christmas series for 2015! It’s Day Two with another four tags – check out yesterday’s watercoloring!
Copic on Wood
I’ve been wanting to play with this wood paper for quite some time – and I was delighted to see that my Copic markers worked on it! I’ll be experimenting with more elaborate images in the future. Check out the video below, or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube!
These tags would be so perfect to attach to a plate of Christmas cookies and deliver to neighbors. What? You don’t know your neighbors? Well last holiday season I decided to change that in my own life…I baked cookies and made plates of them, then attached handmade tags. Delivered to stunned neighbors! One even invited me in for a cup of cider. Give it a go and see if you can break the ice with people living down the street!
Handmade is the best kind of giveaway! Each year I give away all of the tags made in the series – so there will be 24 winners! To sweeten the pot, I am giving a financial donation to 24 charities in the name of each of the winners – so they’re going to get to pick which charity they love most. To qualify to win, leave a comment on this post with YOUR favorite charity, and a comment on the YT video each day all week. I’ll pick 12 from blog comments and 12 from YouTube comments, and announce them all on Sunday the 15th!

These are so attractive and so easy to make! I really like the idea of the wood paper and will be giving it a try. I have to name two charities (sorry!) that are special to me:one is Outreach International, which helps communities around the world create their own solutions to problems of hunger, finding clean water, shelter, health, and education; the other is Canine Companions for Independence, a great organization that raises, trains and provides fantastic service dogs.
I love these tags. I have never seen the wood paper before. I will be trying this very soon. They are beautiful Sandy as are you! Merry Christmas
Love these tags! Great use of the wood paper. Favorite charity is Compassion International. They work at making children’s lives better all over the world.

I’m in such a “house/home” stamp mode lately so your tags really sung to me! I haven’t tried coloring with copics on wood, either, but now it’s on my list of things to try. Great job as always, Sandy!
I like the warmth of wood, the stamp you chose is a perfect pairing, and your coloring is beautiful as always. Wonderful tags!
Oh wow – I have some wood. I might have to try this! Very pretty!!!My second charity would be one that rescuse animals. I would have to look up an exact name.
Those look wonderful! I have not tried coloring on wood, probably because I am afraid if I mess up on the stamping then I would ruin the piece. Will have to try again though, thank you!
Love your tags…beautiful colors and design. The Copic on wood looks really neat.
Love your tags. My favorite charity is American Cancer Society.
I know your middle name now —- Sandy Out-of-the-Box Allnock. What a great name you are living up to and great idea to use the wood paper! The Charity that I choose is Ronald McDonald House house in Gainesville, Florida. Ronald began them and doe provide support but they rely on donation to complete their mission of providing food and housing to families with a child that is hospitalized. Living in a remote area, and missing work to be with a child, and then leaving a family behind to stay with the child and having to eat out and get a motel is beyond normal challenges. The charity is worthwhile to any family needing this support.
Love the wood who knew……My favorite charity is Toys for Tots especially at Christmas. My husband can’t imagine a Christmas without toys……….
This tag is so amazing, I love the idea of coloring on wood with markers! My favorite charity would have to be one for hearing impaired children, because I am partially hearing impaired too. 🙂
Love the tags – my favorite charity is ABC of NC Child Development Center because their vision is to support all people living with autism spectrum disorder reach their full potential in a world where they are valued, accepted, and included. It’s near and dear to me because my oldest is on the autism spectrum.
Wow!!! These are so awesome. I love the wood look. My favorite charity is Second Chance Animal Shelter.
This is a interesting technique, I’m not sure if Iwill ever use it but at least if I want to I know where I’ve learned it. Thank you for all of your instructions.
My favorite charity is the Huntington disease society. My mom suffers with this horrible disease and I have seen personally how it effects the life’s of those who have it and those around them. They need all the support they can get to find a cure.
These are great! I love the contrast of the bright red sentiment against the wood. Thank you Sandy.
Guessing I’m gonna need to add the wood paper to my Christmas wish list! Love the stamp you used & of course your coloring is awesome.
My charity of choice is American Cancer Society.
