I haven’t vlogged for some time – so let’s do it on this last day of June! I’ve got a call for cards to put out there – as well as a little about World Watercolor Month!

World Watercolor Month: July 2021

Every year I’m an ambassador for WWCM – so I hope you’ll join in! The one place I’ll be 100% full-on watercolor is THIS fine art instagram account – but don’t worry it’s not all advanced fine art, lots for newbies to learn! Then my YT, regular IG, and blog will be mixed – but any projects that aren’t watercolor will have a water element in them.

Send me a card: Be My Inspiration!

The call for cards in March was so successful with over 100 birthday cards— let’s do this again before the holiday cardmaking season gets underway!

What you’ll do:

  • Make a card front that might be your holiday card this year. (Only one per person will be shown.)
  • All holidays are accepted! ALL! Just because I used the word Christmas in the video doesn’t mean it’s only Christmas cards.
  • It doesn’t have to be perfect, or have the perfect stamp on it! Don’t have a bear with a santa hat? Put a triangle sticky note where the hat would be, and I’ll guarantee there’ll be a bear with a hat in one of the new releases!
  • Fill out the attached form with as much info as you have, if you don’t know the answer that’s okay!
  • Mail it to my PO Box, with arrival by August 10. (I suggest mailing by minimum July 31, it took a month for a lot of the March cards to arrive.)

What I’ll do:

  • Sort the cards by whatever themes, styles, ideas are generated.
  • Create a video and show each card and talk about them.
  • Use some of the cards as starting points for my holiday videos in September and October!
  • If your card is chosen as inspiration, I’ll email you a sneak peek at the card as soon as I get it done! I’ll also credit you, and link to your social media if you provide it!

About that bathroom…

I bet it was a little surprise to see me vlogging from there! But it’s honestly the prettiest room in my house. Since I’ve now lived here for 20 years it’s TIME to just get busy decorating for real! The guest bathroom was first, and makes me SO HAPPY.

I intended a chair rail – but since I have no power saw to do it nicely, I realized I had ART skills to deploy instead – so I mixed various blues out of the white and blue paint and made my own flower border! The rest of the room was 100% done by just little old me, too – I even had to change out the pipe that joins the sink to the wall, and deal with the bathtub drain (that’s been the dogbath bathroom! EEEK!). I cut carpet to put in, painted the cabinet, changed out an icky mirror for a nice one – it’s my favorite room now!

In fact its SO much a fave I’ve been doing IGTV chats weekly from there. Mostly talking about the art biz and how to grow our accounts on that site, so if you’re into that kind of thing, check out the previous episodes. You’ll recognize the bathroom in the thumbnails.
