Treasure Map Card: Penny’s Pink Pirates

February 12, 2016 by Sandy Allnock 19 Comments [featured_image}

This card was sent as a valentine to a little friend who loves pirates – and pink – but this would be great any time of year as a birthday card or for any occasion for kiddos!

Treasure Map Card

Sometimes a stamp set totally inspires a card – and this Pirate Party set from Clearly Besotted said it wanted to be a treasure map! I say often that I love stamping and coloring all the stamps in a set, and this card was the perfect way to do that! The coloring is REALLY simple – I didn’t fuss with shading really to any extent, except to continually darken the brown background so the images would pop. So remember – when your design is intricate, you can let other parts of it take the back stage! Watch the video below or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube.

The Stickles and Wink of Stella made the card sparkle and shine – two tools that I love having on hand for blinging out a special card!

    Such a fun card! My daughter just decorated my grandson’s new room in pirate — I may “lift” this idea. Thanks!

    Great video. Adding more brown (darker) really makes a difference…thanks for showing. Neat card and I’m sure Penny will love your card as well.

    You just made me so happy. I think I smiled through that entire video. Not only is this a sweet card, but you are a sweetheart for loving that little girl so much. Some of the simplest little moments in a person’s life can make a profound impact, and this is bound to make Penny feel very special. God bless you!

    Love all your work, but this card really made me smile. Probably because pirates are so popular in this family. Love it!
