The easiest way to pick colored pencil hues

June 29, 2018 by Sandy Allnock 8 Comments Filed Under: Colored Pencils

The most pleasing and easiest-to-find color combos: analagous colors, right next to each other on the color wheel!

For the road I opted to use a strip of black cardstock to match the layer under the town…and used a white pen to make the dotted line rather than the stamp. (because I was lazy! LOL)

Hex Charts!

In case you’ve missed it….there are now four hex charts available! Copic chart has been around a while but now there are 3 brands of colored pencil. (Note that there won’t be watercolor or watercolor pencil charts – we can’t run watercolor paper through our home printers or use waterproof ink.) All charts are HERE.

And the Colored Pencil Jumpstart Class content is available!  (You can join in class ANYtime, there’s nothing live that you need to be there for.)

This is such a fun card. Thank you for permission to just color. 🙂 I love it. And THANK YOU for taking the time and for investing in the product to make the hexcharts. Amazing!

I love the blue/green (cooling) colors. It’s 103 here today, and I’m missing the cool weather and ocean breezes along the coast.

I don’t think I want to live in one of these houses, but they look great! Thanks for this very relaxing tutorial.

Thank you Sandy, this is such a great way to show us crafters that it is not always about blending, but having fun! :O)

Awesome card. Those houses are great and I can see why you wanted to color them.

You’re right – sometimes we get so wrapped up in learning and practicing new techniques that we forget to just have some fun – which was the whole reason we started making our own cards in the first place! Thanks for the reminder – and that is a cute stamp set, and an adorable card!
