Techniques with shimmer watercolor powders

August 23, 2019 by Sandy Allnock 8 Comments [featured_image}

I just bought these. Like, yesterday. I know, I know! I bumped another video coz I was on a roll and shot a video while I was playing! Christmastime is coming, and while this isn’t a Christmas card video, I really wanted to share some shimmer to get ya in the mood, eh?

I haven’t played with watercolor powders in eons, but if you’re into them and want to see more, click HERE. These are new-ish to me – not Colorburst necessarily but the Catherine Pooler set; and the Nuvo I hadn’t seen at all before. So you get my first try with them!

The water-inspired cards…..with gold paper liners inside and pretty gold embossing. (Wow Gold Rich)

Pretty flowers, and shiny metallics….

Simple trees – the Nuvo powders have a super soft shimmer to them.

The Cocoa Powder spray is SUPER shiny! Just not in a very directed spritz. lol.

    Gorgeous to watch how this product works but I don’t see myself buying this. I have already so much and so little time to play.
    Thank you so much for showing your awesome cards.

    Love how you turn powder and spray “blobs” into scenes. I’ve got to work on that. TY for showing the product comparisons.

    HibSandy, I love creating with colorburst but I live in Hawaii and with the humidity some not all of my bottles barely in powder comes out it’s like a rock inside I guess due to the humid weather! Any suggestions to fix and loosen them up? I don’t want to buy more like you said they are pricey and there’s still a lot still inside! I haven’t found any help online! You seem to have the most experienced with them please any help would be great! I love your cards Sandy and would love to see more ideas the powders are magical! Thanks

    I do enjoy seeing the new products – and what they’re for, and how to use them. We seem to have a wealth of sprays, drops & powders this summer. So glad that cardmaking is never boring!
