We may not all be superheroes (I’m surely not!) but that doesn’t mean we don’t have superpowers and kryptonite just the same. I’ve seen comments from folks thinking I’m some kind of Marvel character, but honestly, my superpower is not one that you’d normally think of as an “art” superpower.

Tutorial: Superpowers and Kryptonite: what’s yours?

Busy busy busy
I’ve not had much time for making in the traditional sense this week – gah! I’m about to have some long art sessions to make up for it, because what I’ve been working on hasn’t been scratching my artistic itch even if it is! I did take some time to sit down and write out 75 thank you cards to patrons, because recently I did turn these pieces from classes into cards…and since I’ve been in a big “purge” mode lately, it was time to empty the basket of cards and get them out to make mailboxes happy!

Classes mentioned
With the sale this month (June 2023) on ALL classes, a few are highlighted because they’ve been made into cards – there’s more about each one here. The mermaid printables are here.
Human Rainbow II
This class comes with the drawings you’ll need….and teaches a variety of skintones and hair. Both colors and textures! Tap to see class
Market Street Sketches
This sketching class provides templates with measurements – and lots of fun line work with pens, plus watercolor tips with epic shadows! Tap to see class
Sunrise Sunset: Epic Skies
This is the first course I tried teaching in both colored pencil and watercolor pencil! Either medium works to create skies you can use for all kinds of art and cards to add some drama. 🙂 Tap to see class
Tiaras and Tutus
I mentioned Artventure has some classes in it – and this is where little card classes are! In Tiaras and Tutus you’ll get tips on coloring stamps on Desert Storm cardstock, then adding white elements to them. Taking advantage of how to make gouache both thick and thin gives options for making some elements see-through! To find classes at Artventure you MAY need to view it on the web; some app stores are abysmal about approving classes within Mighty Networks, so purchasing it through the website itself works better for some phones. Cards coming next week!
For those who miss my stamping, keep an eye out next week…there are two new releases that I’ve been invited to participate in, so I’ll be in both hops. I’m stoked to get back to creating again after taking time away to get the house project going!
I can understand a bit of what you’re challenged with. I have 2 savings accounts I’ve been trying to build up one is my working savings for things that will come up but maybe it’s a once a year expense then I have my do not touch fund I’ve been trying to build up which is suppose to be for our future retirement home. I have experienced the same challenges as lately the working account can’t keep up with the unexpected expenses and the do not touch account as been touched several times already this year and it’s scary to see how quickly the funds have gone down between vet bills, car repairs or electrical work, etc. wow but I remind myself life is good and it will be alright.
I will keep you in my prayers. I know the good Lord is always watching over you. By the way the room you painted looks amazing.
I just signed up for patterned stamping and can’t wait to give it a try!
In my eyes you are a super hero!
(Just wishing kryptonite didn’t exist!) Have fun in class!
Love your you tubes and have been getting more involved in checking out your classes. Thank you for all that you do.
Love your cards all of them, they are so awesome.. I will defiantly sign up for more of your classes even though I am so behind I’m behind myself. lol I love your classes I learn so much from you and I always love your advice in those classes and your awesome kind words.. You are such an inspiring person. I will keep you in my prayers and hope that your health troubles are blown away!! LOL I have had many medical troubles for 37 years and I can attest positive thinking and a good sense of humor is survival and keeping happy. I love the room you are in where you painted the beautiful grayish blue on the wall.. Very pretty and such a calming room.. Thank you for this video and many happy wishes and prayers..
I just had two friends over for ice cream, sundaes, and it felt so “normal” and I feel so happy — wouldn’t it be great if that feeling makes everything else go away? But I agree, a positive outlook helps a ton.
Onward!
I hope your fund has grown and glad you had some fun..
Sending computer hugs and lots of prayers.. Yep onward!! We’re still alive we are lucky! LOL
