You can use supplies you have at home if you’re missing any of my little tools.

  • The cotton balls are in your bathroom already, or maybe a few are hiding in the first aid kit? Look for anything else soft that you might use — makeup pads, perhaps?
  • For a tea strainer, see what kind of grate you have in the kitchen, or try creating color dust on a piece of sandpaper.
  • Instead of Gamsol, try baby oil!
  • To sharpen a blending stump, use some sandpaper. See the tutorial over on my blog today where I also show how you can make your own blending stumps!
