Succulent Stamps

Succulent stamps

I’ve been waiting so long for today! I was priveleged to design a few more stamp sets for my friends over at Simon Says – YEAH! And this time, by special request from a crafter-who-shall-remain-nameless-unless-she-outs-herself, succulent stamps! I don’t do much with flowers, as ya know…so this one was out of my zone but worth the effort. FUN! I’ve created a video for the Greetings and Succulents set, also known as Sucker for Succulents when paired with the die – with a not-new but still-fun watercolor technique using Memento markers. [If you can’t view the video below, click HERE to watch it on YT.]

The Cups and Succulents set is a little more up my alley (it’s called Potted Succulents when paired with the dies) – so I went Copic happy! In the video, I showed a little of how to do partial diecutting using two dies together. The cup and succulent on the left with the extra blossom had a special process – I diecut just the top flower part of the blossom, then the cup, and then fussycut the rest of the plant in between. The background is just a soft airbrushing of BG01 using my compressor.Sandy Allnock Succulents Copic

A closeup of the cups – and I just ADORE the tiny little sentiments! And that tiny heart? I used one from the Heart Blooms die. Don’t overlook what a die can do to add an embellishment to a card! 🙂Sandy Allnock Succulents Copic2

Be sure to go see Shari Carroll’s sweet card using this stamp set HERE!

You can purchase these succulent stamps and dies in a variety of ways – solo, with their dies, or both sets of stamps + dies together. Links are all below…happy shopping!

PS: YouTube’s annotation feature seems to be broken right now – if you want to see those videos shown at the end: Birthday Farm Animals and Color a Spooky Spotlight.

PPS: I’m still playing with the new camera and new software. Between both of them, I’m climbing uphill without cleats lately! lol! So I beg your pardon for some fuzziness – I had a setting go wonky on the camera, and didn’t have time to refilm, so….yah. It is what it is. But on a good note, I discovered the Command-T button……ohhhhh yeah. Final Cut Pro users will know what I mean. Hubbabubba!

How can one girl have so much talent. I love these stamp sets especially the succulents and cups – such a great design idea. Love the watercolouring and your copic work was superb – as always.

Sandy, Ive recently started following you and enjoy every video you send out. I learn something each time. I went on google to find an answer to a copic issue, but found nothing. Hoping u might be able to tell me why a few of my copics are forming a chaulky substance or look to their nibs. Its not the usual “time to add ink lightness” but chaulky. Thanks for all your inspiration and possible help with this issue.

Great sets, Sandy! My wishlist grows ever longer!

Your SW watercolor turned out great! Don’t suppose you recorded the 2nd card, too? Would love to see that one all the way through as well.
