Just wanted to pop in with a Merry Christmas for you all! I’ve been studying some of the old masters and sketching portions of their paintings just for practice. It’s been a wonderful way to prepare for Christmas!

Caravaggio

Sketch is on toned grey paper with Pitt pencils, black and white.

Bernardo Strozzi

Graphite on cream paper, and doesn’t that baby look like Churchhill?? Even the original looks like one old baby, and mine looks like a miniature 85 year old. But…PRACTICE, right?

Gari Melchers

I love this painting so much…the exhaustion of the couple is palpable. Generals Charcoal Pencil (white) on black sketchbook paper.

One other reminder: on Christmas, my classes will go on sale so you can get the best deal for yourself from Santa’s giftcards! And if you’re giving gift cards, be sure your recipient knows to go put classes in their cart right away and stretch your gift to be its most valuable.
Christmas blessings to you and your family!
Sandy
So beautiful, what Christmas is all about.
Oh wow! These are just gorgeous
Have a magical Christmas
Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing these today.
Oh Sandy. How beautiful. A wonderful reminder of the reason for the season. I too was not familiar with Melcher. He came along way after the masters and hence never saw it in my humanities studies. Merry Christmas Sandy. Have a blessed Christmas Day.
Fabulous drawings Sandy, wow!
Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year to you and your family Sandy.
Thank you so much for a year of beautiful art, great tutorials, videos, reels and all the laughs you gave me
Love all your sketches, but especially the last one. Love how you’ve used white charcoal on black paper.
Wishing you a blessed Christmas and God’s best in the new year.

Enjoying Fenceline!
I don’t think I had ever seen Gari Melchers The Nativity. Thank you for introducing it to me and for sharing your lovely sketches. A wonderful way to keep focus this season. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas, Sandy! Your sketches are amazing!
Your “sketches” as you call them are fine art to me! Your work is just so amazing. Thanks for sharing this beautiful work just in time for Christmas. I wish you and your fur babies a very Merry Christmas and wonderful new year.
Sandy,
Your love of Jesus and Christmas is there. To be able to bring your feelings into your art in such a beautiful way is truly a blessing. Merry Christmas and thank you for sharing your gifts.
I think Gari Melchers must be the only one of this group who was a father himself! Just joking – but as you say, he really captures the weariness and exhaustion of the parents. Your renditions are amazing, as your work always is. Such a nice way to start celebrating the big day. Thank you – and I’m sure all of us are looking forward to having you back online in January!
