I had a big stack of watercolor cards and postcards staring at me – and now they’re finished, happy cards!

I stamped up some sentiments from a beautiful sentiment set – and just started going to town with flowers! If you’ve taken the Fresh Florals Class, it’s some encouragement to you to get loose and wild with your painting!

So quick…so pretty!

Beautifully done! Thank you for such an inspiring post.
Beautiful!
Your cards turned out beautifully!
I’m going to try to send out 5 cards!! You are amazing and generous!!
You have inspired us to send 10 postcards with words of thanks and encouragement to those helping in Texas. Thank you, Sandy!
Sandy, thank you so much for sharing the addresses and your loose watercolor flowers, I plan on donating to Salvation Army as I helped clean up with them when the Grand Forks, North Dakota area flooded. I will be sending 5 cards to first responders.
So generous. I’m dropping off some stuff to a local fire department heading to Texas today.
Love this loose watercolor. I need to try to make this work with my hands, ha. I’ve been a donating fool these past couple of days, and know that I will donate more as more worthy places show up in my world. Thank you for this post.
Thank you so much for your awesome generosity, Sandy! I’m in San Antonio, TX — which didn’t have anywhere near the devastation that our neighbors to the south and east did — but where many people and their furry family members sought refuge. The amount of love and support from all over has just been amazing. God is good! And I’m so excited about your card drive — gonna make as many cards as I can this weekend!
Thanks so much, as always, for your generosity and shining example, Sandy! I’ve donated to the Red Cross and a couple of local relief organizations in Houston already and will send out 10 cards for the card drive. I have coworkers in our office at Houston who have lost everything and others who are still evacuated and have idea what conditions they’ll find when they’re able to return to their homes. My heart is just breaking for them as well as all the other victims of Harvey.
Thank you for sharing this video and links for places to send donations.
Thank you for all your efforts to help all those affected by the hurricane.
Thank you for supporting our friends and neighbors and pets. I live in Livingston Parish Louisiana and Aug 13 of last year we suffered a 1000 year flood disaster. So many wonderful, kind organizations helped my community and are still helping. I really appreciate that you are giving, and listing links so others can too. Please no old clothes. This presented a huge problem for us and I don’t wish it on the survivors of Harvey. I won’t get any cards done but I will send gift cards with the firefighters from my area ( my nephew is one) that are making trips to affected areas. I can’t tell you the relief and happiness it means to be handed even a $5 Walmart or Walgreens etc gift card when you are down and struggling. Just to know someone cares means the world. Thank you again Sandy!
Love watching your videos. Thank you for sharing your talents. And what a great idea to send cards to first responders. I WILL send 20 cards within ten days! Thank you always for your inspiration.
I’m not certain I can get any cards made, but I wanted to thank you for all your efforts and all the help you are providing. God bless you and may He be with all that are helping whether it’s in Texas or Louisiana. Hubby was stationed in Corpus Christi (some 50 years ago) and we were there for over two years our baby girl was born there. Hurts to see the devastation. Yes, they are tough and resilient but they still need help.
Beautiful watercolor cards Sandy. Your talent truly amazes me.
I’ve ordered both the new collaboration set and the bundle, can’t wait to get them! I donated to the Red Cross and will make some cards to send as well.
Sandy, you are one of the most generous people I know. I absolutely love your cards, they are gorgeous!
So many of my friends have lost everything (my heart is just breaking). I am in the Austin area, we have been lucky to only have been hit with very heavy rains and winds. Just today while in the grocery store people were complaining that such-n-such wasn’t on the shelf. I got tired of hearing it and finally spoke up and calmly told one of them that over 2 dozen of our local grocery store trucks were lined up on the interstate, leaving full of food to go down south to help those in greater need than us. My husband looked at me like an alien overtook me!! I am not one to speak up, but I was tired of hearing complaints! I am going to try to make cards to send.
Good for you! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Cards to first responders is a great idea. So many of them are working to save others, even while their own homes are flooding.
I’ll try to send 5 cards.
I loved watching you make the watercolor flowers. I might get up the courage to try it myself!
Love those cards. So beautiful. Thank you for doing this I’m going to make a couple cards tomorrow.
Thanks for the idea to send cards to first responders!
I commit to sending 10 cards to First Responders in the affected area. Thank you for making this suggestion and challenge to brighten the life of someone on such very sad days…
these are gorgeous cards, I will send 5 cards to first responders.
These are beautiful projects! I’ll be sending 3 cards…my hubby’s a firefighter here in Ohio and they really do go above and beyond without a second thought. thanks for this!
Thank you everyone for your help for Texas. Our family and friends fared ok – although my brother-in-law is still stuck in his house in Houston – and we are so grateful. We are donating to the Red Cross, SA Food Bank, Diaper Bank and anywhere else we can. I will also send cards to first responders. Thanks, Sandy, for the inspiration.
I love all of your art work and this is an amazing thing you are doing. i will of course donate cards for this worthy drive
Love your watercolor cards. Thanks for the. Ideas. Thank you for thinking of all those people in Texas affected by the flooding. My daughter lives there and is ok, but she is helping save the animals left behind. They need crates, flood , blankets and toys to help calm the animals.
Sandy, you are truly an amazing Angel! Thank you so much for your inspiration and the hard work with the lists! May God keep you in his heart forever!
Thanks for the addresses–those working in hospitals who likely are stuck there for days, away from their own families, also need encouragement. I plan to send cards to fellow RNs in Houston. Your suggestions about the best ways to help are excellent.
That’s a great idea!
Very generous of you Sandy. I just donated to the Red Cross and commit to sending 10 cards.
Such lovely colors and flawless technique. BEAUTIFUL!
Gorgeous cards and thanks for all you do for all of us–and donating for Texas is great, I wish I could commit to sending cards, but I’m away at the moment, only have a some colored pens with me.
I bet you could find some fun postcards where you’re travelling…. 🙂
Thank you for all you do! The lists/addresses are very helpful. I will try to get some cards out!
I struggle with loose watercolor but find it the prettiest of all – lets my brain fill in the details and enjoy looking. The postcards are a fantastic way to keep practicing without feeling I’m wasting paper and paint. I love the look of your happy cards! You always inspire me!
What a wonderful post. You are so loving and giving and inspire us to use our creative ways in even better ways! I will be sending at least 5 cards out. Of course, you know >>I<< love our first responders being a retired 9-1-1 operator. Unsung heroes are the police, fire and medical personnel right in the thick of things. <3
Are there ways to find out how to send cards to dispatchers? Or are they within the police department?
they are usually with the police dept or sheriff’s department, but they may have their own centers. Just depends on where you are.
A lot of them are in police departments and many are separate bureaus. In Portland, 9-1-1 is housed in a separate building, the Bureau of Emergency Communications. They dispatch Portland PD, Multnomah County SO, City of Gresham and City of Troutdale, as well as fire and ambulance services for all the jurisdictions in Multnomah County.
Took me awhile to figure out how to get back into my WordPress account so I could comment. Derp.
Wow! I had been considering your Copic Jumpstart class. After reading this post, I’m DEFINITELY signing up for that when the rest of my markers arrive! Thanks for this wonderful list of how we can help! I’m going to send out at least 3 cards – hopefully more.
Going to try my best to get a couple made up as I am so behind in my to do list at home. Plus I am reorganizing cards so I will also pull some cards of cheer that would be appropriate. I definitely want to donate for the animals because they matter also. Thank you for the lists.
David’s brothers live in Tomball which is outside of Houston. One brother is out of high school for the week and the other one is currently at Ft Hood for two week training. David loves making cards now so I am going to have him make some happy mail for his brothers. I too will be sending cards.
Sandy, you are one of the most thoughtful people out there. I definitely will be sending cards off. I have cards done already so they are ready to be mailed – at least 10 if not more. Thank you for the listing – truly very helpful. Blessings for all you do in thinking of so many others!
You always find a way to help. Thank you for the inspiration and actual facts so we can help, too.
Just beautiful, Sandy! Thank you for sharing your talents and your truly giving heart. Having been affected by terrible flooding in our town years ago, I know that it takes a very long time to recover after such a disaster. Thanking the first responders is so important. They will be out helping others while their own families are affected by the flooding. Heroes ~ one and all! At this time of year, my thoughts turn to the children and their schools. So, I will be looking for ways to help teachers affected by the hurricane.
Thank you for the helpful tips and long list of addresses, Sandy. I will make 3 cards to mail off this week. (I should peek into my special box of patriotic stamps from our OWH days. It would feel good to use them again!) Heartfelt thanks, Sandy, for all that you do… and for being YOU! ♡
If you find a fundraiser for teachers let me know. I’d like to add a lot more to the fundraiser page!
Love watching your great videos! I will try and do 5 cards. So unfortunate for everyone out there. Breaks my heart the way animals are being effected. Locally we are sending people out and bringing lots of pets back. Concidering fostering.
Thank you for the well presented informational post! You really did your homework and thanks for sharing that info with all of us. I will send 3 cards this week plus will be sure to send some money to the local SPCA shelters to help with the animals 🙂 My puppy girls mean the world to me so Minnie Mouse and Coca Puff will be sure we send some help to the SPCA. Thanks for all you do!
Sandy you are a step above many who encourage us to send. You get hard facts and you present the cause in a non-sensational but power full way. I like it that you give us both hints on what type cards to send and you help us find the organizations that want that kind of help. And of course, you educate us on how to make stunning cards!
Sandy, I love, love love that you are using your talents and doing this! In addition to sending money, I’ve been so anxious to do something more personal. This idea is perfect! Thank you for giving us a tangible way to bring a little brightness into a devastating situation! Thank you too for personally fundraising and donating your time and money. You’re awesome, Sandy! <3!
Oops, in my excitement, I forgot to mention that I will make 10 cards. Thank you so much for the addresses!
Love, love these loose watercolor cards. You have inspired me to practice….I will be sending some cards
this week.
great idea. I can use my watercolor card background class as a jumping off point. thanks as always for sharing.
Sandy, this is so inspiring! I love that you are sharing your talents by sending cards for Hurricane Harvey First Responders. I am going to attempt to make some as well, and send them along. I commit to at least 3. Thanks for the inspiration.
Sandy, what a wonderful way to use your talent, by sharing it with those in need. While I don’t even have a small fraction of your ability, I will make 2-3 cards this weekend to send as well.
