Color by layering distress ink colors

December 17, 2017 by Sandy Allnock 21 Comments Filed Under: Watercolor

The United We Flourish stamp-and-die series has been so much fun – I always struggle with how to make solid stamps a “coloring” thing since that’s my schtick – but I think I got it this time! Distress inks and the miniMISTI made me pretty happy with my CAS cards.

Video

Watch the video below or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube.

I guess this is more like…coloring on the stamp and letting the stamp do the coloring on the paper, huh? 🙂

Want another idea for this set?

Check out this copic post coloring just the DIES on Ellen’s blog!

    Hi Sandy,
I struggle with not coloring (hee hee) myself. But the distress inks worked perfectly in your technique. As always (not taking away from anything) your cards are delightful.

Sandy, awesome cards I love how you did them. I saw you do the second set a few days ago which was cool because I could never figure out how to get that swirl in the frosting to look real and your video was AMAZING how you did that shading to make it look so real I wanted to reach right in and grab and eat it, lol. Thanks.

Sandy thank you so much, I am so glad you used Distress Ink. I don’t have Copics and it is sometimes so difficult to get the same result with Distress ink. I love the stamp set, who don’t want to have a nice cupcake or icecream?
