I’ve promised a discussion on my thoughts on the glue gun wax seal delivery…so here it is. I know some have other opinions, and the good thing is – that’s okay! Different folks have different priorities, so different approaches work for us all. Fortunately for the people who make all the goodies….we ARE all different so they can make all kinds of fun supplies, eh?
My recent couple videos on wax seals have addressed other topics, and I’ve been surprised how many folks wondered if I even knew about glue guns – and yes, I did. But having tried this method, found it didn’t work for me. Though I tend not to do videos on why not to do a thing, since I’d rather give recommendations on what to do, I thought this topic might be helpful for some considering what they’d like to try.
My two cents worth on glue guns and wax seals
I totally understand some folks may love it – but I have definite opinions that are about what works for me. You can decide which factors are most important to you.
- can deliver wax quickly
- sticks might be easier to store
- you may already have a glue gun
- stamp needs to be cooled between stampings
- gun needs to be cleaned between color changes
Results of the tests
Most of my 50 tests arrived just fine – I paid the regular first class postage plus 20c ‘additional postage’ for each. And none arrived needing extra postage due, most had little or no damage. Except these:
