Garden Charmers in watercolor

Garden Charmers in watercolor

The sweet Garden Charmers stamp set from Penny Black has a pretty bird and lots of beautiful flowers – I’ve combined one of the clusters of flowers with the bird to create a 5″ x 5″ watercolored scene – with clouds! Watch the video below or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube.

Oh my, if only I could do half as good! This is so beautiful. I am sorry but this is too lovely to be a card, I say frame it and put it on the wall but I assume (like everyone else) you only have so many walls! LOL A being as ALL that you make is this beautiful, you couldn’t possibly frame them all! TFS!

Beautiful! I love that stamp set, and now I’m going to pull it out again! I love how you stamped three images and tied them together with your hand drawing. Your colors are dreamy, and once again you’ve reminded me to “loosen up”!

Sandy, your painting is lovely and each of your videos is teaching something. If anybody has the gall to leave you a nasty comment, just ignore them, as they clearly are not interested in the learning process, but are pathetic individuals who cannot create so they criticise instead.

Oh so beautiful Sandy! You paint with such ease. I just looked at my seldom used black Velvet brushes and I have a 6 and a 12 and a jumbo. I just have to try this. Thank you for the wonderful inspiration. Love the double matting too. Your card just has to go on a wall and not in drawer somewhere.

Well now, maybe the branches should be grey? Or brown? and the flowers blue? And the bird green (snickers) Oh I, don’t know………………Just kidding-I couldn’t resist. Could you picture it like that? —-makes me shudder..And your right about comments-if you can’t say something nice, say nothing at all!
This is gorgeous. I love how you matted it, too. No matter how hard I try I just can’t seem to get water coloring right. But I’m not giving up. I’ll persevere and someday might do half as well as you!

That was so pretty Sandy. Your videos are so informative as I am just starting to experiment with watercolors. I really like how you explain your technique and the reasoning behind it. You have made me look at my stamps in a different way by combining and connecting sceens togeter.
Thank you for saying that about others leaving critical and nasty comments about others work. There are a lot of people that can be so nasty to artist that give us their time and knowledge for free. I wish they would stop the negativity but some people live for that.
In closing thank you for the beautiful work that you share and I continue to follow.

Sigh – you make it look so simple. I do love the way you just change the stamped image to be whatever you need – I’m starting to do that a little bit – getting brave, and having more fun with stamps… Changing the way this ole 68-yr old “veteran” stamper looks at things is a major accomplishment! Count yourself as a really superb teacher, my dear, and don’t ever let anyone tell you that you should have done something differently on one of your projects!!!
Thank you again, for all you do –
