Today I bring you…easy breezy watercolor cards – for fall and Christmas! After the response to my video Playing with Color, I thought I’d do it again, with slightly different colors, and provide a little more inspiration!

It’s the beautiful stamps from Colorado Craft Company came out with earlier this month – Holly & Berries, Oak Leaves & Acorns, and Pine Branch & Pinecones. Big beautiful shapes with thick lines are perfect for loose, splashy watercolor!

The fall cards were made from a 6″ x 9″ piece of watercolor paper, stamped all-over, sprayed with water, then with a little color added in here and there. The panels are cut down for strips on four cards – then the twine tied around the panel and knotted where the sentiment tag will be. (Note: do that before adhering, I kinda goofed that part!

For Christmas cards, I stamped the images in Versafine Onyx Black, then just got busy SPLASHING! I trimmed the panels, stamped and embossed the sentiments, and put them all together. Easy peasy!

I hope you’ll try something like this — let me know if you find them to be easy breezy watercolor cards too!

These cards are so gorgeous and I love this loose water color style. I keep watching the video to gain courage to just try it! It’s like magic watching those color mix and I love that.
Love these. This company is becoming a new favorite.
Awesome and again you let it look so easy to make. I love what you did, especially the use of the awesome colours for your fall cards!
Thank you so much for showing and have a great weekend.
These are so pretty Sandy
Yup, Yep….love these prints and …. your colors. Must haves!
Beautiful cards! Love your examples of cutting down one big piece of card stock into 4 cards. Your gift of choosing the background card stock is so impressive. I wish I could learn how to make my cards pop like you do.
Wonderful cards, like the soft warm tones, great to give this year for christmas cards something different. You did a beautiful job an nice colours.
Hopefully this is not my 3rd comment, was having issue send first one an then clicked again. Great way to start off Friday. Have a fun weekend an enjoy your creating
Beautiful cards, soft an warm tones, I’d send these out for christmas cards, something beautifully different. Love your final out come.
Love these cards and just what I needed! I’ve been working through the Simply Christmas mini class – lots of dry brush practice and very clean and simple cards, which I love. And I’ve learned so much about brush work. But this looks like such a fun break – can’t wait to try some splashing and splooging!
