Today I bring you…easy breezy watercolor cards – for fall and Christmas! After the response to my video Playing with Color, I thought I’d do it again, with slightly different colors, and provide a little more inspiration!

It’s the beautiful stamps from Colorado Craft Company came out with earlier this month – Holly & Berries, Oak Leaves & Acorns, and Pine Branch & Pinecones. Big beautiful shapes with thick lines are perfect for loose, splashy watercolor!

The fall cards were made from a 6″ x 9″ piece of watercolor paper, stamped all-over, sprayed with water, then with a little color added in here and there. The panels are cut down for strips on four cards – then the twine tied around the panel and knotted where the sentiment tag will be. (Note: do that before adhering, I kinda goofed that part!

For Christmas cards, I stamped the images in Versafine Onyx Black, then just got busy SPLASHING! I trimmed the panels, stamped and embossed the sentiments, and put them all together. Easy peasy!

I hope you’ll try something like this — let me know if you find them to be easy breezy watercolor cards too!
