Create something every day

June 1, 2013 by Sandy Allnock 13 Comments [featured_image}

Happy weekend, peeps! I’ve been looking forward to a weekend off since….well, since Monday! lol. I know, I shouldn’t wish away my days all week, but I just love having a couple concerted days to get things done at home 🙂

One of the things is getting this video finished and published! I’ve been asked by a number of folks from time to time if I had a bio for them to post when they do an article or post about me. So….here it is!

Whatcha think? Does it capture who I am? A little of me thinks it’s too tame, but it’d be nice to have something professional when I need it, so I figured I’d go pretty straight-up with it. It’s also going to be my video on my new One Channel – I’ll be setting that up this weekend I hope. If you haven’t heard about it, YT is changing the channel pages and making it so a channel “looks” good on lots of devices, including tvs. So I need to figure out what to design for a header, etc….and the new channel also has an option to put an intro video out so people who aren’t subscribers are served that video to entice them to sub. Hopefully this one achieves that too!

My card for today is wishing hard for VEGAS! CHA is there this summer, and I’m going with some girlfriends…..I’ll have to do some stuff at the show, but I am SO STOKED to go sit by a pool in the heat for at least a little while! 🙂 Sparkle’s Swimming Lucy is saving my spot in the pool for me. 🙂

    So VERY WELL DONE!!! It gives a glimpse into the soul behind the artist, and highlights your professionalism. Love the part where you laugh at yourself.

    Sandy, the video is perfect, very ‘low key’ for you but very professional! After you hook them is time enough to blow them away! Thank you for sharing your time and talents with us!

    I think it’s very professional, yet showing a very personal side of yourself, including your sense of humor. You did achieve your dream to teach, which you do every day on your blog, in your videos and on OWH TV. I, like so many, are willing students and extend a huge thank you. PS: I laughed when I saw the name of the image. This Lucy (me) does have red hair, too, but shuns the sun and heat as much as possible and would NEVER be seen in a swimsuit like this. Friends beg me to put on long pants, saying I’m blinding them. There’s also that additional fact that some excess poundage would make it truly frightening sight. 😉

    I love the video and think it expresses you quite well. And, yes, I think you are where God wants you to be too. Somehow, I feel that by sharing my artwork, that is His plan for me too!

    No, it’s not too tame at all; it’s as professional as you, and you included just enough of your warmth and humor. Love seeing the progression from the pollution (amazing for that age!) picture to the eagle, and super that you spotlighted OWH!

    You also gave me encouragement for our granddaughter, who began crayoning in her high chair and is starting college at Savannah School of Art and Design this fall. Although I’ve managed to buck the odds and make a living for three decades writing, creative jobs are always more difficult to come by, yet you’re proof that an art degree can be a golden ticket to not just living creatively, but eating, as well. 🙂

    Not “too tame” – the extra polish and professional quality is important for its purpose, and at the same time, your passion and sense of humor comes through. It communicates your “why” with your love of art and, not just sending cards to our heroes, but supporting/teaching/inspiring us to make better cards and to enjoy improving our art, too. I like how you showed some of your story, your faith, and your everyday creative work. Great video!

    Wonderful video, Sandy! You truly are our Art teacher, sharing your talents, knowledge, and passion as you inspire all of us. Since I retired from teaching, I have been exploring new creative avenues, including card making. I have learned so much from all of your OWH videos. Thank you so much, Sandy, for helping me learn something new each day! ♡ Dawn

    Allthough I feel I know you MUCH better than this video =0) I like it a lot. And NO wonder you are SO talented when you have a degree in arts. Loved seeing the very YOUNG you as well. Ready to hit the showers now – have been to an all day outing at a nearby army grounds and Fifty as well as Elias my grandson have been up and down and in and out of EVERYTHING there. Phew – sticky and dirty but happy is what we are – and we met some soldiers too.
