Copic Coloring Transparent Water

February 25, 2016 by Sandy Allnock 21 Comments [featured_image}

At CHA I did some coloring of a watery background for this little shark….so guess what? I had to explore a little more and see if I could make that water look transparent! Thanks to Jamie from Avery Elle for providing me with this stamp set when I fell in love with it! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Copic Coloring Transparent Water

It’s one thing to make water look like water. But step that up just a little notch more – and see if you can try this one. Make the water look like it’s actually in front of the shark! It could look a bit distracting if he was fully submerged, so I left his head peeping out over the top of the water. But you can try this with any number of fish or shark stamps too! Watch the video below or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube.

I just love cards that work for guys – not too many stamps have such a snarky attitude to them like this set does!

    I love your technique of coloring transparent water. I recently got the stamp set and cased your card but added the fishing pole.

    What the heck happened?! I got 16 messages from you overnight! I don’t mind, it just that that is really a lot, and unusual for you.

    lovely to see the details of this technique -again! I think your blog has gone a little cra-cra because I’ve woken up to 16 emails (this is the last one sent) and if this is typical then I think it must be already viewed stuff. Not complaining though – this transparent water tutorial is brilliant 🙂

    OMYGOSH – I have been waiting for months for this stamp set to be released! My daughter’s birthday is coming up and her favorite “animal” is – you guessed – the shark! This is gonna be great – especially now that I can do that big guy half in and half out of the water – what a great tutorial! Thank you so much for helping me to make a really special birthday card for my grown up little girl!!!
