Hello and welcome to my stop on the Altenew Bloghop! I was so honored to be invited and sent some stamps…I hope you’ll enjoy this pretty card! (Details on the hop, giveaway, and next link are below in this post!)
When Altenew invited me to be part of this hop – and I saw the Vintage Teacups set – I wanted to color a set of pretty teacups right away, so I chose that one! (Big thanks for sharing stamps with me so I could join in!) I got out my masking tape from Judikins to create the stack of teacups and nested them into each other. See the video for how that worked with positive and negative masks.

I love this teacup set! It was my favorite from the new release. Your card you created with it is beautiful! You did a great job masking the cups and coloring them.
How pretty! Love the tea cups and pretty colors!
Wow those teacups look amazing!
Sandy, I enjoyed learning from you when I was making OWH cards… and was so happy to find you again tonight! Your recent creations, including this teacup card, are AMAZING! Just signed up to get your regular emails. Looking forward to that!
Lovely, delicate teacups. What fun!
The design and coloring are spectacular. I adore your style.
What an awesome card! Love the pattern of flowers on the cups and stacking them is brilliant! Thanks for sharing your creativity with us!
Great video. BEAUTIFUL card. The tea cups gives me great memories of drinking tea with my great grandmother, thank you.
DELIGHTFUL card!!!
LOVE your BEAUTIFUL stacked teacups, your colouring is AMAZING, the shading gives wonderful dimension with the shadows – WOW!!!
THANK YOU for sharing your INSPIRATION and video, it was a PLEASURE to watch and LEARN 🙂
PS – I grew up with everyone calling it their Willow China, they were blue and white
Your colouring stops me in my tracks, thanks so much for taking the time to share the ‘how’!
Great coloring as always Sandy. The shadows really make the teacups come to life.
Very nice shadows. You really made the card 3 dimensional. I love the blues and love how you created pattern on the cups.
I think I’ve learned more from your videos about shading and copic use than nearly any other video!
I’ve just watched your video. I had to watch it because your card looks so real….like cups are really there. AMAZING card!
Love the tea cup coloring u did and the set itself. It seems like those blue and white pattern when I was little ( a long time ago) was called delft blue China. Not sure if I am spelling it correct or not but I had a little tea cut set made to look like it!! Enjoy your beautiful coloring Sandy!!
Oops, I think I “lost” my original comment. Thank you for posting the video; it is a mini master class on shading and adding depth. This is a beautiful card with the stacked tea cups. As for the blue/white porcelain, perhaps your Grandmother was referring to Flow Blue or Blue Willow china?
Fantastic coloring and shading! Your video is a class-room experience! Flow Blue and Blue Willow comes to mind for different types of blue/white porcelain. Thank you for posting the video and your design.
Stunning card! Beautiful colouring!
Sandy, your coloring is always just impeccable,
Great coloring – so much depth. Thanks for the great video!
I love your projects!
Fabulous shading Sandy and I love the way the background complements the teacups perfectly and the blue flowers just lift them, and then the teabag on the string with the sentiment is a fantastic finishing touch. x
love the shadowing. great technique! thanks for sharing.
Love the tea cups. Love the video explaining your colouring. Your card is beautiful. Delft is the name for the blue and white pottery it is named after an area in the Netherlands. The Delft area made lots of pottery, but became famous for it’s blue and white.
Wow Kathy!! I was getting worried when I saw those dark browns you were using, but do those cups ever look
real!!! The blue colour is great on them. You sure taught me about shadows! If only I could remember all these things when I was making my own cards…..they seem to leave me.
Were you taking about Delft cups ( I believe they were dutch in blue and white ) or Lamouge? I have probably spelt them both wrong – hope you get my meaning.
Wow, what a beautiful card! You are a very talented artist!
I thought my favorite of the new stamps was the Adore You set, but you’re starting to sway me to the Vintage Teacups.
I love the teacups, so very adorable.
Love all the demension you achieved in your tea cups. So pretty. Dutch blue and white pottery is referred to a delft, then there is blue willow and flow blue here in America. I love hearing about tidbits of information passed on by grandmas.
Love the vintage teacups!
Gorgeous!
Love how you stacked the teacups. Great card.
The cup stack idea is super cool…Loved it..
Wow! Beautiful card. And I love the teacups. Reminds me of the pretty ones my grandmother had.
Beautiful! It reminds me of Delft / Delftware tea cups! I don’t know if that’s the word you were looking for, but that’s what came to mind for me!
I love your teacup card, you almost want to reach over and grab a cup!
Love your stack of teacups! They look so real!
Beautiful work as always Sandy! I love tea cups as well, and I adore the floral pattern on yours! Beautiful work and love the tips you gave on masking in your video!
As always, your coloring is spectacular! Always an inspiration….love the tea cups! Have a collection of them that started with my great grandmother. 😉 Thanks for sharing.
Wow! So incredible! Looks so realistic!!! Beautiful work!
This is ridiculous!!! It looks so lifelike.
Thank you for the video on how you created tyour awesome card, Sandy! I have to have this Vintage Tea Cup stamp set so I can try this beautiful technique. 😉
Great technique on the teacups! I love watching you work.
Super great idea for the cups and as usual your coloring is awesome.
SUPERB shading on those teacups, LOVE the classic porcelain blue pattern:))
Wow – the gold teacups are so elegant! Beautiful!
spectacular !!
Not only was this ingenious, stacking the cups and tea bag, the coloring is spectacular!!! This was my absolute favorite of all the blog hop creations!
I’m a huge fan of Altenew and this is another example of versatility and creativity in the hands of a gifted artist. Regardless of imagination or talent, even someone like me (with basic skills) can create a beautiful card Thank you for the tip for finding shadows/highlights, subscribing to your blog.
Gorgeous card! It looks like you could just pick one up… & I love the sentiment on a mock teabag! Thank you for your videos!
I love the way you colored the teacups. I learned more from this video about painting shadows. It turned out great. Thanks for the inspiration.
