It’s time for a new release by Colorado Craft Company! They sent me the bee – perfect for me as a lover of all things yellow – and at the last minute I added a bonus video to the end so stay tuned!

Supplies for this project are linked at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no cost to you.
FYI the bee is GIANT so my card recommendation will be to just have part of the bee on the card – you could even cut him right down the middle and get 2 cards out of one coloring session! Or just do him as noline coloring and frame him….
I think CCC may have had mee in mind with all the yellow-themed stamps this month, don’t you think?

The stamp set also has beeeautiful sentiments – all about being kind. Irony given what I spoke of in the video about social media eh?

The additional card…..with the sunflowers:

Sandy,
I just recently found your presence on the web and it is a breath of fresh air. I am not trained in art of any kind (I am trained as a psychologist) but I have made cards for too many years to count. I also like just plain ole art, so I try and mix the two. So your blog and Youtube were welcome. I have heard and read some of your comments regarding equity and justice and it is so wonderful to find someone that thinks like me. Not that you have to think like me, but please accept what I have to say. I remember blacks being hosed with water in Alabama. I remember Martin Luther King and what he stood for. We have not grown as much as we should. And I do have reservations about any positive changes that might occur. I am hopeful, but I have been disappointed so many times before. Let’s keep shoring each other up. And, we must also take proactive steps. Talking is not enough.
❤️
Well said, Sandy, and all due respect for having the courage to stand up for your convictions. Sadly, the US is not the only place with problems right now, and I sometimes wonder if we are regressing as a species. But as long as there are good people willing to stand up for what is right, there is hope! x
I am from New Zealand, and we do not have everything ‘right’ here by any means, but I was brought up to respect and honour all people.
It hurts me to see what is happening in your country, and the fact that people are twisting anything said on media – if you stay quiet you are wrong, if you express an opinion you are wrong, it seems from what I have observed
May you find peace in Jesus and continue creating – I so enjoy your art
Stay safe
Blessings
Maxine
Sandy, I hear you. I support you. As an Australian we have many of the same issues, with racism and people not trying to solve the problems faced by our indigenous community – who after all, were here FIRST. Long before us privileged white Aussies. We have to listen to each other. And politics shouldn’t even come into it – it’s a human rights issue. We all have the rights to be treated as people – no one should feel less than.
Dearest Sandy,
I have seen your work off and on for about 20 years or so. Your creativity is amazing, and your projects always look put-of-this-world.
I want to tell you that I hear you. I support you. What is happening here in the US is heart-breaking.
I have lost some “friends” from being on different sides of politics and due to this community members vs the police. My own sisters and I no longer discuss anything to do with these subjects. It does hurt. It hurt me to find that some who have been my friends for 35 years are on the other side.
Your creativity speaks to many. I would like to offer this suggestion during your off time. You could create art, only to emote your feelings and get them on paper. You could share them and not air any comments that are inappropriate. You could do it in a non-teaching format, or with links to supplies. It would be only to express yourself. You may reach people that way
Or, it would be great if you would write a letter to your Legislators asking them to represent what you want–and let them know what that may be or look like.
There are a lot of organizations helping with the pandemic and the out cry for Equality, respect, compassion, perhaps you may want to donate or volunteer.
I hope you do not mind my sharing these ideas with you. This way you won’t be suffering alone. No need to answer comments. Just use this time to share. It’s also a healthy way to get it out of your body.

It is a very sad world we live in at the moment.
Thank you for speaking up. It is the way that all of us who enjoy white privilege can demonstrate our wish to help., and change what is wrong in our country. Your art is a divine gift, and I am grateful that you share it with us. Step back, take a deep breath, and reclaim the calm in your soul. We WILL get through this together. Loving thoughts and white light to you.

Thank you for sharing and for not staying silent on this topic!❤️ Although I love pretty things and reading creative posts, I’m not in a ‘pretty’ or creative mood right now. As a POC it hurts me a bit that some with a voice continue posting ‘pretty’ & ‘happy’ things WITHOUT acknowledging what is happening in the real world. We all need the pretty things right now but you just can’t pretend that our world isn’t in complete chaos. By simply saying something goes a long way so I think you for realizing that some of us are hurting. I will continue to watch for your amazing blog posts and be inspired by you!!!
I love your bee but I like most bee related things. I think CCC really nailed it though. I am also enjoying your colored pencil posts. I like seeing how you mixed the two medias in these cards. Have a great day.
I for one want you to know you will be missed . For what it my be worth many of use rely on sunshine and rainbows from wonderful people to help get us through all of this evilness. My craftiness comes from a happy place in my heart and that will not be met without good people like you. Hopefully you will keep in touch.
Awesome Bee Sandy, I also didn’t know that they have yellow on their legs, perhaps they pic it up from the pollen inside the flower.
I totally understand that you are stepping back from social media use. I was shocked to read some comments on peoples FB or IG when they went black yesterday and how other people react again on that. Shame on them.
Thank you for sharing your art today, stay who you are a warm, loving and kind woman and do what you feels is good, it’s your blog and social media pages.
Stay safe and have, despite of all things, a wonderful day.
This is an intelligent posture, l;aced with emotion. I understand completely. Thank you.
I don’t do much in the way of social media, so I don’t know about the comments you’re referring to. However, from what I have seen in the past, you’re one of the very few crafters/artists that depicts people of color in her coloring, which I always thought was wonderful. Some months back I commented on some Instagram and/or Facebook posts by suggesting that companies/artists depict more than just white people when coloring. Hardly any response – it was very sad.
Thank you for this post and all the wonderful replies… I say “ditto” to all of them.
As for your art and your kindness toward others, I will continue to follow you to the ends of the earth and beyond.
I’m so glad to hear that someone else is fed up with the nasty, intolerant comments made on FB and IG posts. And I have been disappointed by some of the comments made by people in the industry who normally espouse kindness and courtesy. I seldom post anything, but I enjoy following talented people like you and learning from them. Please know you are appreciated and admired by many, and we will follow you in whatever way works for you. Take care.
I share sadness at the way our gifted country is right now. Your response of withdrawing from social media may say more than trying to answer any of those who disrespect one another and lack gratitude for all we’ve been given in and through one another according to holy grace.
Like others, I have benefited from your creativity and instruction. Thank you for all you have shared in the past. I hope you’ll be able to continue sharing your gifts with us as time goes by.
Blessings.
Some (albeit a small percentage) are ignorant or speak without thought. They feel that a post is only words. Wrong. So wrong. Posting is and should be encouraging and positive. I don’t mean to be a Pollyanna and I know we all have differing opinions but our different opinions belong on our own pages, not on other people’s posts. Personally I love your posts. I don’t always respond but I always watch. You do what you must to preserve your sanity but know you are much loved here. Your work always blows me away as I have very limited talent and so enjoy watching the ease with which you create. Thanks!
Just one of the reasons I love your blog is because it reflects YOU, not an art-making robot. Thank you for your wise words both here and on Patreon; they have made me reevaluate who I choose to give my cards to, and I will be making changes for the better!
Good for you Sandy. I admire your talent and the bee.
Another Canadian here. Hoping people get their act together soon.
I opened my email and my jaw dropped! This is so absolutely beautiful. just wow.
Love the bee! Love your comments! Rock on, sista!
Just keep being you with your good heart. I will continue to haunt your blog because, a) I am of the same mind, b) Love you creativity and c) You are steadfast in your beliefs.
BTW, this bee is beyond incredible.
i wish you all the best, you are such a talented caring woman, I agree whole heartedly, It’s very frightening and so horrible the way people are acting, unbelievable actually,
I absolutely love your talent, you have inspired me to try, given me hope through your videos, with much info, I have always been afraid to try, but I am working on it.

Thanks for sharing your creativity and your wise words. I agree with you whole heartedly. The worst is seeing people who declare themselves to be Christian act And talk in ways that are anything but.
Sandy, I hope this break from social media can bring you some small measure of peace during these turbulent times. I wish you peace and kindness. Take care and be well.
Such a beautiful bee – and my town’s mascot! Gonna have to have this one… and your coloring is so originally artistic and lifelike! As always, thank you so much for sharing your talents. Please keep posting your artwork – it’s just such a wonderful way to start the day! Cuppa coffee and Sandy – it’s enough for me!
Sorry to read you’re feeling so bad. Our world is going in the bad direction and it’s frightening ! I hope you will find comfort with your friends and your family, and of course with G and V.
Take care ! ❤️
