Color a Blizzard with motion

December 9, 2016 by Sandy Allnock 23 Comments Filed Under: Copic Advanced

I saw this stamp set in an LSS while I was traveling this summer – and immediately I wanted to take on the challenge of coloring a blizzard so it looked like it was blowing like mad outside. Thus, I bring you the results here today!

Video

Watch the video below or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube.

The snow is definitely a good bit of work – and requires having enough color underneath for it to show up – but it’s so worthwhile!

Here are two alternate ideas for creating blizzards….first one using Hero Arts’ Jingle Bells.

And another with Cool Day  by MFT. For this one instead of focusing on the white pen dots, I used pale colors and a colorless blender in the sky.

What I wouldn’t give for your talent with a brush (or any stamping tool for that matter). These are just magical. I have the bear stamps so will give it a go. Would you check the link for the little girl on a candy cane? I tried it and get: Product not found. That is another really cute stamp… you always make everything cute.

What a fun card. Love how you did the blizzard and the snow. We have a foot plus of snow here in SW MI and it is still snowing. At least we don’t have the wind like the girl in your card. TFS

Love your bold use of color with this blizzard Sandy – my son asked me to send him some Christmas cards so he can pass out and I have the cool day set so I think I’ll give it a try! As always – you are such wonderful inspiration.

Yay! I loved the first snow storm you did with the polar bear and tried to recreate it! Can’t wait to try this one. Thanks for all your great tips! I love watching your videos as done my little one. She’s 5 and didn’t want to go to sleep the other night so I turned on one of your videos and as soon as she heard “Hi, I’m Sandy Allnock” she jumped in bed!

Haa haa! You’re no punishment, she loves you! Some nights I put her to bed and some nights her dad puts her to bed and she begs me not to watch any of your videos without her! 🙂 It’s so hard for me to wait!!
