Coloring a “Dutch” rabbit family, colored pencil

March 1, 2021 by Sandy Allnock 9 Comments Filed Under: Colored Pencils

I’ve got bunnies coming out of my ears! Or maybe they have cards coming out of theirs, who knows….but in this case – I tried making black and white bunnies – and the internet says these patterns are called “Dutch” markings!

Video

While the size and shape of the bunny features in this Happy Easter stamp don’t exactly match the “Dutch” bunnies….I went for it anyway. In real life their ears are shorter and they’re chubby little chonks. Hope there aren’t bunny lovers who take offense at my taking liberties here – I just love the drama of a black and white wabbit!

The Desert Storm paper is a Neenah – so it has the texture of Neenah solar white. But the color of a Kraft! The No Line Ink I use shows up really well on this paper.

The Prismacolor pencils used:

The card ended up as a 5″ x 5″ card – I added a tiny white layer and then popped it with dimensional adhesive.

Gorgeous card Sandy. Great lesson in black colouring, I always love your pencil colouring.
When I use a different kind of paper I always have a piece of scrap next to me so I can try
the colour I want to use first on the scrap.
The Dutch rabbit is is an English breed but with Dutch ancestors,
Whe had Dutchies when I was young.
Thank you so much for sharing, stay safe and have a wonderful (bunny) week. (LOL)

Adorable! We had a little Dutch rabbit when my daughter was little…. she named him O’Malley after the character in the Disney movie, The Aristocats.

Awesome video. I don’t believe I’ve seen the no line coloring method with colored pencils. Your coloring is always amazing.
