Hello there! I thought I’d start out the week with a little pep talk while coloring – I tried something different with this stamp set, and thought talking through my process might be helpful or encouraging to you!
Supplies for this project are linked at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no cost to you.

This stamp set by Waffle Flower called Holly Bird got me right away because of the shape (love me some hexagons!)….and as the art developed it changed along the way. Let’s talk through some ways to think about your art – and not give up halfway through!
I colored the stamp twice – the first time was an “expected” coloration – a red bird, green background, traditional colors and simple kind of bird. But you know me….expected isn’t what gets me excited. I love to learn something, and learning means pushing the boundaries! So I made my second bird a realistic one following a little bird photo I found.

The simpler version will be on social media later on today, so you’ll be able to check it out on my IGTV page.

FREE CLASS!
Some of you might be ready to spend some time on your Christmas cards – this free class could help you along!

Great pep talk … thanks Sandy!! you are so right about keeping on trying even when you feel like something is not working. I loved your cards too!
Great cards
Yes! It’s time to be making Christmas cards – thank you! I got started this week – about a month late. Seems like I’m sending more every year. So thanks for the pep talk – much needed at this time of the year – and I love that you made your little boo-boo work in the opening. That made it look so much more natural… if a bird drinking a cup of warm milk can be natural! Thanks, too, for the free tutorial – I’ll be downloading that one next!
