One question I hear a lot – especially heard when I taught in-person classes – was how to get straight things straight. You can adjust a slightly crooked house by using a marker…but how do we avoid that in the first place?

Video
I think I have an idea! You’ll need some blocks with grids…big enough blocks to reach at least one outside edge of the paper.
How was that for easy? Just line things up well first, and you can stamp these like a pro! There’s another house in the stamp set too – and I painted it with bricks.

Yes this is a couple years past of you doing this video, but I’ve just tarted doing art impression stamps and I really appreciate this video, because I learned an awful lot from you and I love the way the picture turned out. Thank you very much for having done this video. It still helping people out.
No worries! I’ve been re-upping old posts lately anyhow. There’s one full of AI stuff in this post: https://sandyallnock.com/stamped-watercolor-inspiration/ And you can see more of the collections on the “Inspiration” tab in the menu 🙂 Happy coloring!
I loved the second card showing…do you have a tutorial for that card? Thanks
Beautiful! Reminiscent of Thomas Kincaid!
So amazing to watch you work. It is hypnotic. I watch for a vit only to realize my mouth is open. LOL (True story!) Just beautiful cards Sandy.
Happy New Year!
So gorgeous! You always make it seem like it just magically comes together ☺
Great tip on the blocks. I love how the AI stamps, along with your beautiful painting, work together to make such pretty scenes. I too like to keep all of my foliage stamps together in one of those boxes!
Just charming, Sandy! I could move right in! I’m so grateful that you introduced me to AI Watercolor stamps a few years ago. Thank you for so many more helpful tips today. I am studying the way you ground your images ~ the work of a true artist! I’m ready to purchase your favorite brushes. They hold so much more water than the brush I have been using with my AI stamps. I just love the painterly look of your AI Watercolor cards! Heartfelt thanks for all that you share, dear Sandy. Happy New Year!! ♡
So pretty. Re: alignment…a stamp positioner would work well also, I think.
I prefer to use low-tech if I can….and especially for folks who don’t have a positioner this works great 🙂
Wow!! Those are fabulous.
Both homes are just beautiful but my favorite bit is the windows in the brick house. It seems as though I can see something inside by the added dimension. Sure looked like fun to do.
When I grow up I want to paint just like you. You rock!!!! Thanks for all the inspiration in the past and what must be a ton of hard work making these videos for us. Yours is one of my several go-to blogs that I must see every day. Blessings for a great new year and looking forward to continued fantastic inspirations.
Watching you do AI is downright inspirational [well, no different than watching you do anything else, so …] Thank you. Your cards are (as always) gorgeous.
Beautiful cards and great tips. TFS Happy New Year, Sandy.
This is beautiful!! I just watched your video with my 3 yo daughter and she loved it.
Great, awesome cards!
Sandy, they are so gorgeous! I am new to AI and falling in love with them after watching your video tutorials. THANKS a lot for the tips!
