Happy #GivingTuesday! In my mind it’s the BEST holiday of the year. I’m ecstatic that in 2018, we as a community of folks here on this blog and at my teaching site, we’ve donated over $12,000.000 to charitable causes! There have been charity auctions and fund drives, we raised a TON for Puerto Rico, for hurricane relief, and the Safari Animals class is an ongoing fundraiser: a portion of proceeds goes to wildlife charities.
A little charity news in my world: In January I’ll be going back to Puerto Rico, and attending a fundraiser performance of Hamilton – starring Lin Manuel Miranda! Proceeds will benefit Flamboyan Arts Fund. PLUS I’ll be meeting the cast afterward, as well as Chef Jose Andres and others – I am so excited I could SQUEAL! To shake the hand of such a humanitarian will be an honor. While on the trip, I’ll hopefully be able to meet with the charities we supported and bring back a report; it’s a quick trip and I’ll see what I can do to see the solar panels and roofs.
What charity is close to YOUR heart? Have you asked your family for donations in your name?
Turn a solid stamp into a painting
I’ve been thinking about solid stamps for a while now – and finally found one to try my idea. It might just change the way you look at silhouette stamps! Watch the video below or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube.
Isn’t it pretty in it’s design simplicity? Just a little layered cardstock sets it off perfectly.
