Chocolate Chip CookiesNo small amount of hyperbole…these chocolate chip cookies are really are uh-mazing. I made five dozen of these for my Toastmasters Club Awards Meeting last night – and this small handful is ALL that was left. (Yes that’s a patriotic plate you see there!) By their popular demand, I bring you…The Recipe.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup Crisco
  • 5 cups flour
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 4 cups chocolate chips

Cream margarine and Crisco with electric mixer. Add about half the flour, the sugars, eggs, vanilla, and baking soda; beat until thoroughly combined. Beat in remaining flour. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Makes about 10 dozen chocolate chip cookies.

Cut ingredients in half for a smaller batch of 5 dozen. But I recommend making 10. You’ll need that many because everyone will steal them from you!

And a note about OWH

Many of you may have seen my announcement yesterday about the future of Operation Write Home. And I wanted to tell you all that I am so blessed by the support extended to me in the short time since that was posted. The love that OWH has created among a tight though large community of crafters is incredibly special to me!

For those who’ve expressed concern over my future – please know that I’m confident that I’m in good hands! God’s got a plan, He’s going to continue to take care of me. He’s grown my creative outlets here on my blog and on YouTube, given me places to travel and teach classes, and put that crazy hex chart in my head, and the EduDigi series that’s been so popular too. He’s given me incredible supporters on Patreon, great companies to work with in the craft industry, and I know He has more plans that I don’t even have a clue about yet. I’m excited to see what will happen next!

In the meantime – OWH continues as normal until August 1. Then there’s a whole different close-down period to work through after that. And as all that goes on, I’ll still be here and on Instagram and Facebook, posting tutorials and making your wallets cry, right? You betcha! This summer I’ll be teaching in Washington, California, Virginia…and I have plans for Boston, New York, and Florida that I hope I can get on the books too. Lots of fun to be had, and I’m so glad you’re all here with me on the journey. The future is so bright – I’m going to need shades!

shades

I gave pairs of these to my TM club members last night…..so much fun! Click on the pic if you need a pair.

And if you were to go make some of these chocolate chip cookies, your world would need some rainbow sunglasses too!
