Did you realize National Teacher Appreciation Day is coming up on May 5th? I’ve got some darling little gift card holders you can make with your kids to share a little love with the one who loves your kiddos in school all day! First – let me tell you where I am right now!

Today I’m SO excited to be at SNAP Conference in Salt Lake City surrounded by 500 other talented crafty bloggers learning, creating, and celebrating the friendships we’ve made because of blogging! And to celebrate with you, I teamed up with Abbey from The Cards We Drew and a large group of bloggers to create Crafts in a SNAP {15 Minute Craft Ideas} so that anyone, whether beginner or seasoned pro, can learn to create fun and handmade items in no time at all! Check out my tutorial for Teacher Gift Card Holders coming up, then scroll down below and be sure to check out some of what my blogging friends have to offer!! Have fun and get creative!

Crafts in a SNAP 15 Minute Craft Ideas

Teacher Gift Card Holders

This project only requires having a couple scraps on hand, and a stamp set, a couple simple tools – and you can decorate them in any way you like. I used the Bookworm Additions stamps from Clearly Besotted – a sweet little mini set – to create mine, but there are lots of options – including just making a stack of books with a ribbon “bookmark” instead. (Measurements and supplies are a little further down in this post.) Check out the video below, or click HERE to watch in HD on YouTube!

The insert pulls out of the stack of books and reveals the gift card…and there’s space on the back of the insert for a note to the amazing teacher. Alternatively, the books could be made by drawing lines on the paper strips, but I think the texture created by the scoring looks pretty fabulous! (And it’s a ton easier!)

Measurements for gift card holders

  • Card base 3.5 x 8 inches, score at 3.5 and staple
  • Books: 1 x 4.25 inches; round corners on one side, punch an arc inward on the other
  • Insert: 2.5 x 5 inches

If you choose to only use one inch strips (not intermixing half inch ones), Make the score at 3 inches instead of 3.5. Trim off the top edge of the insert if needed.
