Superhero Cards for Kids

Do the darling but itty bitty stamps cause you angst? Have trouble coloring them, or coming up with cute designs that show off just how sweet they are? I’ve got a fun solution for you today – and I was really excited to discover this when Stephanie from Clearly Besotted slipped the March release into my mailbox. There are a bunch of new sets I’ll link you to at the end of the post – but I’ll just be working with two of them today.

Superhero cards for kids – with tiny stamps

I’ve mentioned before that I love to color ALL the stamps. Since I don’t usually repeat the same stamp set on YouTube (coz man there are toooooo many that I want to spread the love to! lol), then I do like to color alllll the images if possible, so you can see at least one way that I’d do it. I was puzzling how to get all these cuties onto a single card – and spied my stash of Pretty Pink Posh dies while I was thinking. Oh MY. Lots of little openings…..this would be perfect! Watch the video below, or click HERE to watch in HD on YouTube.

Caped Cuties is a set I wish had been around for OWH! So darned cute and would be perfect for kiddos….but I’ll be sending mine to some grown up kiddos instead. 🙂 And I just love finding small, controllable images to color with pencils, since my technique takes so much time; it’s a lot easier to work with limited areas to color. But you could color these with anything – as long as you can get into lots of these tiny spots!

Sandy Allnock Caped CutiesThe envelope needed a little love…AND I hadn’t been able to add all the stamps onto the card, so I decorated the envie too! I wish there were envelopes made of Neenah Desert Storm so I could match it, but a Kraft envelope will do.

  1. Have you ever tried Strathmore colored pencil card stock? I was just wondering what the difference was between it and say, classic crest. You totally rock Ms.A!

    1. Never tried it…

  2. Hi Sandy. I know you do tutorials now and then. I don’t SEE one on the differences between the different Prismacolor pencils. My word. There are Premium Drawing, Premier, Verithin, Scholar, Soft Core, Mixed Media Set. I immediately became overwhelmed. I’ve NEVER used color pencils. I Copic and I watercolor …. I’d like to get a set of Prisma’s but I just don’t know what to even consider.

    1. I haven’t compared them since I see no need to buy them all—but I use the Premiere.
