Simply sympathy

Posted on Aug 26, 2012 | 8 comments

I’ve got a somewhat simple sympathy card….not exactly a real CAS card, but it’s certainly *my* type of CAS! I was using up scraps of cardstock that have been cluttering up my desk.

The sentiment from SRM is a sticker on Bazzill – and I cut the edge to match the sticker. By hand, sorry, no punch that does that.

  1. Your card is beautiful. Could you explain CAS and SRM please? Why is this not CAS “acceptable” ? Thank you for your patience with me!

    • Sorry Pam! CAS is Clean and Simple and it’s totally acceptable. I just can’t DO it well! lol. So I’ve invented “SVCAS” – Sandy’s version of CAS” which is simpler than my USUAL, so it’s closer to CAS….but it’s fancier than what most people would ever call CAS. And SRM is SRM Stickers. You can get to their products using the link in the product section at the end of the post. They have super stickers!

  2. Very pretty….love all the blue shades coming together for a nice/calm/cool look. Is that piercing around the inner part of the circle? it’s perfect….how’d you get it that way? template? by hand?

    • Yes, that’s hand piercing. No template, I just do it often enough my hand gets into a rhythm. Just don’t measure it out, they’ll never be even, lol :)

  3. I love the different textures on this card! Don’t you just love using up scraps?

    • Yes! I have a monster pile growing, and am heading for the recycling bin if I don’t start pulling from it asap!

  4. I know exactly what you mean about needing a sympathy card and not wanting to make one at the time it’s needed. I need to stock up on my box too. This is a very lovely card and so much more meaningful than a store bought one. The receiver probably doesn’t much look at any of them at the time, but later it will bring a smile showing all the love you put into it.

  5. What a lovely card! Will definately have to pin this for future reference!
