Welcome to a week of ribbon love on my blog! I’m always being asked about ribbon, since I just *love* it so much, so I figured a week-long tribute to my favorite ways to use ribbon could be fun. Of course today’s also Sunday, so I’m also on deck for a CAS card…or a SVCAS card (Sandy’s version of CAS!).
This is a supersimple way to use up ribbon scraps…I always seem to cut mine too long when putting on a card, so once in a while I make a bunch of these to use the ends up. Depending on the width, you may need less or more ribbons (and smaller buttons), but the chevron (striped twill) is perfect with a 3some. The yellow textured cardstock on the blue corner-rounded card base gives the busy ribbons something to rest on. If your scraps are solid, you might try something with a little bit of pattern – likely monochromatic so it doesn’t bug out your eyes!

The baker’s twine and button colors alternate between the three colors…
This next one is a bonus card… The card has no ribbon. No Copics. Maybe that would still make it CAS? Hmm. Probably not. Though the color scheme goes nicely with the ribbon card above. It’s for Julie’s Bonus Sketch posted on S&S…she asked if anyone had time to do a sample, and since I had a NEEEED to go make something yesterday, I did! (It was that or go dig more weeds. I chose stamping!) I turned it upside down and put the shaped part at the top, and made banners from the strips. I did have to add the sentiment strip across it – you’re gonna laugh….because the banner pieces weren’t sticking to the embossing very well! Ha! Keep that in mind when you adhere things onto embossed paper, it can be a challenge to get things to stick. So I sewed that strip on…nothing’s going anywhere off this card! Stamps are all by Paper Smooches, see the linky down below to go shop for it.

Hope you’ll be back this week to enjoy some more ribbon love! Remember, I might just have some ribbon candy next weekend for a randomly selected commenter from the week

I love the idea of ribbon scraps. I always cut too much ribbon and then have some left over. Great thinking Sandy!
Just love the way you used up your ribbon scraps…..I am a really fan of using up scraps..haha. The second card is really cute too.
It’s always hard to part with the last 3″ of ribbon on a spool. This is a great way to use every little bit! I especially love how you alternated all the colors on the first card. It’s so fun! Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful fix – stitching!!! Both of these cards are great, so bright and happy! And the paper airplane and sentiment are so cute!
Thanks for the inspiration!
I love ribbon, baker’s twine & buttons. I seem to collect all 3, but hardly use any of them. LOL! I am using up buttons on some button bouquets for a baby shower (cute as a button theme), so no worries! I love the inspiration on your blog. TFS!
You keep making me add more Paper Smooches to my wish list!
Fabulous idea for those small pieces of ribbon. Great cards!
What a great way to use up ribbon scraps.
Using up more scraps! Are you on a cleaning it out binge? I say go for it! Since it makes more room for new goodies. The one with the button is so nice and tidy. Stay out of the weeds today!
I’m new to blogs (don’t have one myself and not ready to start one) and I find them a bit confusing, but, I love yours and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the blog hop this weekend! I can’t imagine how you find time to sleep!!! Your scrap ribbon cards are beautiful!
Such a cute card. I always cut my ribbons too long too – some sort of crafty illness I suppose. Can’t wait to ese what else you make this week!
ok so this was a “doh” moment for me!I always learn something from you. thanks, my friend.
Cool way to use up those little ribbon pieces. Love your second card, so cute and cheery!
Love the idea to use ribbon scraps. I love all the Paper Smooches stamps you use. I am going to have to get some.
Beautiful way you used up the extra ribbon, I just love the chevron ribbon. Both the cards are lovely.
Way cool idea for ribbon. I will definately try this one.
WoHo! Great idea! CAS is great.
These ribbon cards are wonderful. Thanks for all the hints on using up ribbon scraps …. I have a baggie-full to work on! but no chevrons:(( However, these are great hints.
Will look forward to more about ribbons this week…you are a gem to do this for everyone.
Cute cards. I really like the striped twill and the buttons and twine with it
Great use for those last little bits of ribbon…hate to throw ‘em out!! Your second card is really cute.

Your ribbon with buttons is so cute on your first card! And I *LOVE* what you did for the bonus sketch card! The stitching is so great (of course, that is what my straight lines look like!) and the stamps are adorable. I especially like your fussy cut clouds! Just today, I got a couple of paper airplane stamps from Lawn Fawn that I ordered through our local stamp store–I can’t wait to use them! Thanks for the inspiration!
What a great way to use your ribbon scraps. I have a jar full of them, but didn’t know what to do with them. I’ll have to CASE this card. Thanks for sharing.
Don’t fool yourself – you do GREAT clean and simple cards when you try. This one is really simple to do, and a nice clean-cut look, yet still in the “little black dress” category. Nice job.
