Happy release day, everyone! I wanted to pop in and share a card I made with the Ellen Hutson release that just launched! If you’re a fan of the Leading Ladies – this month the family is growing – with a Leading Gentleman and a Little Lady!

I paired these two with the new little spray of stars – there are a couple of star dies in this release, and I created them as a spray of stars overhead on a summer’s night. Well I know there’s a summer coming – even though we’re mid-winter! Here’s the full release…items I used have an *:

Step by step

I diecut the stars from Neenah first, then added Dad at the bottom….

….and Little Lady is stamped behind her Dad. She has one arm up in the air, but with her behind him that’s hidden.

With masks in place, I airbrushed the background…

…with different blues and purples.

The big reveal…

I decided to color them as an African American family…

…and drew a forest behind them for the stars to fly above!

The finished card is popped up with dimensional adhesive, a white layer beneath the colored panel, and a kraft card base. A sentiment from Little Lady tops off the card, complete with white heat embossing.

Monday I’ll have a video on Ellen’s blog showing another way to color a leading family—in pencil! Stay tuned!
