With the heat we’ve had lately, it’s time to do a summer card! Yeah, I know, the rest of the nation’s over it. But we just had our first weekend of summer! So I’m ready for this
I picked this cute image from Eat Cake – Pearl enjoying her ice cream! This was a birthday card for my dear buddy Margaret….one of our favorite things is to meet at Coldstone for ice cream for dinner once in a while. It’s not nearly as often as I’d like – not because of the ice cream, but because I miss her! Hopefully this card was a big hint.
The striped paper is by My Mind’s Eye – polkadots Echo Park…and of course that’s some of my yummy May Arts ribbon as always! Sentiment’s by SRM. And I feel like I’ve really been “on my game” with my coloring lately…I just love how Pearl came out! After I colored the bathing suit, I added the polkadots with the dark green marker. And that lil border punch? Oh you’re gonna love this. New. Fiskars. Stay tuned to the show this week and I’ll show you guys their new system. It ROCKS!
Copic colors: Skin E53 E51; Hair C2 C0; Dress G07 G28; Ice cream E77 E15 E33.

Add brown hair and that is me!!!!!! I love the variation of colors that you used – very bold – and they all play well together!
This is just a super card. Ronni….no, no, it’s ME! LOL Sandy, I just love the May Arts ribbon you use on your cards. It just sets them off perfectly, and the polka dots on her suit….yeah, GENIUS….again. Brava!
Really cute card. Love the mix of patterns (studying that!) and the May Arts Ribbon. Now that I have decent card stock, I will have to move up to good ribbon! I really like the twine wound on the end too. Your card also reminds me of What No to Wear – color and texture and pattern – the two people who host the show try to drive that into people’s heads so they can dress better and after watching their show and studying your cards, I can see those rules apply for card making as well.
Pearl is too cute! Wonderful coloring and shading
and I love the layout, a “sketch” I must try!
Pearl with her ice cream is just too much fun & all the colored stripes and dots make me very happy! Thank you for sharing this
