Paper Smooches: Warm hearted candle

Before I get started today….I found a Copic app for my phone that I’m stoked about! You can read the instructions here on how to add it – it’s not an app store thing, so it’s a little odd; I had the webpage open on my laptop while navigating to the app on my phone so I could read the instructions at the same time. Next task is to mark up the app with the markers I have…I’m about done purchasing (I’m only missing a handful of colors) but I think I’ll use this to track which reinkers I still need. Okay. Geeking done for now!

My CAS card today is also the Before/After on the OWH Facebook page…and I thought I’d show you the end result when the image is colored too!

Before: We see a lot of cards with stamping on patterned paper. Some papers can handle that, and some images…but something like this really doesn’t work. The pattern is so busy and the images so clean, they just have a mismatch going on. The stamped sentiment on the pattern is a major problem with OWHers. Hopefully eventually we can solve that  :)

The second version uses the patterned paper only on the bottom, and moves the sentiment into the upper white space. The candles are stamped on a layered panel, giving them the importance that their cuteness deserves.

And the third version, of course, has color in the candles! I used colors that were in the patterned paper to draw them together. Copic colors: R89, R37, R43, Y 17, and I outlined them with YG03 to pull in a little of the green in the paper.

And….if you missed it, I did a vlog! woohoo, it’s been a while :)

Hope you’re having a FANTABULOUS weekend! Are you finished with the last of your OWH holiday cards yet so they can get mailed tomorrow?
