Painting Transparency

Hello friends! It’s time for an additional holiday treat for you from Ellen Hutson…it’s a small release, and a bunch of the products are the dies to match stamp sets you might already have. Sweet, huh? Check out the full release HERE….and let me show you cards with two of the new dies!

Painting Transparency

I was playing around with some of the sets of dies in this new release – and wanted to find a way to paint them! As I was testing out ways to lay out the flowers and accidentally overlaid edges of some and watched the bleed together, I got excited to see if I could deliberately make it happen. This would work with lots of die or stencil shapes – and with more than watercolor pencils too!  Watch the video below, or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube.

The idea would work great with the leaves in the die set too – but it’s so pretty with the empty flower shape….I love the soft, transparent blending that happens with wet pencil next to wet pencil!

The sentiment from the Scribbles set was bent on a curve, and perfectly matches the little line of pretty ornaments. I added some Glossy Accents to polish off the card!Sandy Allnock Painting Transparency2
