It’s National Hug Day – so I’ve interrupted my plan for today so I can give out GROUP HUGS! First–a sale over at Ellen’s:
In the midst of the shutdown, I wanted to do something special for federal workers and contractors who are furloughed or working without pay through no fault of their own- a free class! And a sale on drawing classes for everyone else! (Scroll down for info.)
Note: Supplies are linked in the supply list at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used – that means if you make a purchase using my links, I receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thank you for your support of my work on this blog! Read more.
Watch the video below or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube.
I didn’t include the Copic colors in the video – sorry. I was rushing to get this done and slipped into the blog queue. But I did snap a pic of the colors:

This is a really cute stamp – lots of critters, and no masking needed!

FREE class for affected federal workers & contractors:
Instructions for affected workers (spouses are ok too!):
- Create an account at art-classes.com
- Send an email to administrator@art-classes.com from the email you’ve registered with (or at least tell me in the email what the account email is if you’re writing from a different address)
- Include a MODIFIED identification photo – government employee ID OR $0.00 pay stub, etc. Modified means to BLACK OUT personally identifying info like social security or account numbers, phone numbers, or addresses. If the email gets hijacked into outer space I don’t want your info compromised! I just need to see something that shows you’ve been affected.
- I’ll email back once Whimsical Sketching is added to your account, and I’ll delete the photo with your info – I don’t want to save it.
Drawing classes are on sale through 1/27/19
Note that a new intermediate class called “Casting Shadows” is coming on 2/1/19; Drawing 101 is strongly recommended as a prerequisite.

Sandy you have a heart of gold & in privileged to know you slightly. What a wonderful thing to do for others. Your card is gorgeous & I hope all gets sorted out &soon over there. X
You are always thinking of others. Such an inspiration.
You are so generous Sandy – what an amazing thing to do
what a huge heart you have! I’m Canadian & in the Edmonton area air traffic controllers sent pizza to numerous locations in the U.S.A. I admired them for doing that. To be forced to work, without pay, is saying something about your government; I admire these folks for keeping the U.S.A alive!! Hats of to you for offering these classes. I’m sure you’ll have a lot of interest. Thank you & here’s a hug thru the web!
Sandy you are a woman with such a great heart. I am not living in the US but I think it’s awful and those men and women don’t deserve this, where ever you live.
I placed the video on my FB page, thank you so much for the awesome card and great gesture.
I love you for this. I don’t qualify, but just thinking about the federal workers effected by this makes me so sad. I just love that you are doing what you can to help. Makes me think what I might be able to do. Bless you.
You make me so proud that I follow you. Not only because of your talent, creativity, and instructions but because your heart speaks volumes and comes through loud and clear. I’m not affected directly but my empathy is with them all. Your offer shows you care and can also make some creative time for them.
What a lovely card from such a generous heart.
And who doesn’t need a hug?! I like your card – but I love your idea of helping government employees, and those affected by the shutdown. I’d been wondering what I can do, and now I know I can check around to find my local food bank and help there – thank you! Oh – and it’s good to have you back – we miss you when you’re away!
