May Arts DT applicant review

Posted on Jul 15, 2012 | 5 comments

I thought today I’d share the other finalists in the May Arts DT competition – there are some great projects out there! For those who are avid commenters….can you go give the ladies some love on YT and/or their blogs? I know they’re as nervous and excited as I am! Which is your favorite out of these? (And you’re not allowed to say mine!) Here’s the other video DT applicants:

Here are the finalists for the written ribbonistas….go leave them some love too! These are all tutorials – so bookmark this post if you want to come back to them :)
I couldn’t locate a couple of entries, maybe they dropped out ;( But anyway…..all of that, my friends, is what has me worried about the DT competition. So many amazing sculptured ribbon projects, and I have….my lil dress card. LOL. Hopefully the ribbon lady will like my dress :)

My CAS card for today is based on what I saw in trolling through the blogs for the applicants – there were a couple ideas around weaving ribbon, and I wanted to see how this 3/8″ doublefaced satin ribbon worked with that. Me likes.

All the ribbon is held down by ScorTape – and the heart on top is adhered with it too, since it works SO well on ribbon.

And…here’s your weekend vlog, starring CIARA! Yep, she had a hard time hanging with it, but she did her little best. I was going to try filming a 2nd time with the camera set higher….but I didn’t think she’d last. LOL. Some weeks, we just get what we get!

  1. I LOVE this card. I really like the idea of weaving ribbon and it makes such a classy looking card. Definitely going to CASE this one. :)

  2. My favorite is Alexcia’s Ribbon skirt

  3. Love your woven ribbon card! Poor Ciara…she really wanted to be out in the yard, playing, MOM! It’s always marvelous to get feedback and to know that our cards aren’t just going out into a big black void, but actually making a difference to somebody!

  4. Thanks so much for the sweet words, Sandy! Good luck to you too!!

  5. I LOVE your cards! I can’t watch videos because we have limited data (we live in a rural area) but the end result is great! I’ve made wedding dress cards, but never thought of another type of dress, great idea! Best of Luck, and thanks for the kind words!
