Magical Monday: Petunia’s Web!

Have you missed Magical Monday? The blog has been so busy lately that this feature’s been on a short hiatus!

Petunia’s Web

This was one of those cards that developed as I colored. At first, I planned on a barn scene with Nice to See You Petunia by Stamping Bella – that made sense. But while coloring, I started thinking about Wilbur from Charlotte’s Web…one of my absolute favorite books as a youth! I think it may have been the first book I devoured in one sitting – staying up late with a flashlight under the covers, as I remember. What a story E. B. White wove! By the time I was done, I had to add a tiny spider web in that upper door opening….just because. Watch the video below, or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube.

I just love Petunia and her little glasses – it was fun figuring out how to do the shading inside the glass – one side showing through the dark barn, the other side the dirt.  And of course adding some Glossy Accents on top!

2 little announcements

  1. I thought I’d let you guys know that I’m taking a while off from teaching in stores after my upcoming Boston trip. I do have one more class at Impress this week (Thursday night, Copic coloring with Lawn Fawn – details HERE), and that’ll be it for a while. I want to take some time to focus on the final closing of OWH and all that it entails, and some personal things as well. My blog will remain the same – and I have some crazy awesome things coming up to share, so buckle your seatbelts!
  2. Watch Instagram later today…just saying. 🙂
