Before scrolling….take a moment to watch this.
Pretty powerful eh? This is the song I think of every time I see this Stampin Up! Godspeed stamp on cards that come in. And now….I finally own a Godspeed set of my own! I looked for this for ages, but wasn’t willing to pay scalpers prices on ebay; I did get to make a card or two from it years back due to the generosity of my friend Glinda; she was a dear friend and dedicated cardmaker back when we were a weeeee teeny organization. She stamped a few to send me once in a while. And then….she passed away. Not only was I out a friend…I was without my ‘fix’ for this stamp. And one day I got a text from shipper Kris – she had seen Pam post on her FB wall that she had two of these and wanted to sell one. I snapped it up!
Now as much as I love it – I do have an issue with the set. The sentiment and other stamps….well, they’re more appropriate for AnyHero mail. But this image that I love? This is one that a guy would send home, isn’t it? Why would we use it for AnyHero cards….? To tell them they should be writing home? lol. Well…..anyway, there’s my gripe.
I used a Miss You sentiment from SRM instead. And am hoping it’s written home on by a hero serving on a far out base, seeing this picture and writing inside, “It’s me, honey. I miss you.”

Wow! Thank for sharing. That song/video renewed my already strong commitment to making quality cards for our troops. I hope and pray for many, many more happy endings.
Beautiful song and video. Another gorgeous card, I also love this stamp set, of course I don’t have it and have been looking to buy it ,but no one seems to want to sell. i have a friend that has let me use hers and i used it to make cards for OWH. I’m going to keep looking until I find one to buy. Thanks for sharing.
oh my goodness! That video is extremely powerful! I’m in tears now! Thank you for sharing it. And the stamp…well it’s perfect and makes me want to try to find it.
You forgot the Kleenex alert for the video. Thank you for sharing that beautiful song. The stamp is perfect for OWH.
I cry every time I watch that video or hear that song. I used to listen to it when my uncle was in Iraq and pray for him and couldn’t remember the name or the artist when my son went to Afghanistan. Thanks for the link.
That is such a powerful song…do you suppose they would let us adopt it as our theme song?
I’ve asked and gotten no response, sadly. I did a video with it years back and they had YouTube take it down. *sigh*
I’ve been looking for that stamp set for years too. Your card is awesome (and that video grabs my heart).
Powerful video and song, felt it to my bones. I as well have an open eye for that stamp set. Maybe we should petition Stamin Up to bring it back for an encore presentation. I agree with your thoughts on the stamp Sandy, I like it better for the Hero to send home.
this was such a moving song and video. thanks so much for sharing it. i was at a garage sale last saturday and found this stamp set….thought it a treasure then and more so now.
Kind of hard to comment after watching the video. I can’t see my monitor. You forgot to warn us about getting the kleenex ready.
Maybe you could design a similar set for Hero Arts?
Wow. It tugged at my heart. My commitment to OWH is even stronger. I will continue to support OWH until every soldier comes home!
Inspiring video…would be really cool if they’d let OWH use the sound track….Love that set, but like you I’m not willing to pay the price that’s usually asked. Great card!!

That song makes me cry every time I hear it, even more so seeing the video. I can see why you like this stamp so much – it’s beautiful & this card will definitely brighten someone’s day. TFS
Its a beautiful card, but most of the guys deployed wear desert camo, not green. I have that set – I will have to try my hand with the tan/browns!
Not by photos I’ve seen – desert was mostly Iraq
I have seen this video many times in the past, Marc Schultz is awesome. But, watching it today was so powerful. Thanks for sharing it Sandy.
All I can say is WOW! This is a teary, powerful video and should be shared to motivate others to send letters/cards to our Heroes to let them know how much WE appreciate them
