Forest critters from The Greeting Farm

Happy Friday everyone! My card with a bunch of adorable forest critters uses two sets from a fun new release from The Greeting Farm – Wood Friends and Cuddly Thanks –  they sent them to me to play with and OH. Cuteness overload!

Forest Critters Scene

I’m sharing the coloring of this card, aided by my Hex Chart – what? You haven’t heard about it? Well me oh my. I thought everyone in craftyland had one by now! Well it’s HERE, and after watching the video below, you can go get one for yourself. Warning, it makes you want to buy more markers – but fortunately they’re on sale for 25% off HERE, just use coupon code COPIC. Edited to add: I did notice they’re out of stock on a ton of colors since the sale has been on a while – so you can find them always discounted at two of my other favorite sites, HERE and HERE. You’re welcome! #chiefenabler

I’ve been asked time and again to share my little forest critters backgrounds, and I attempted to talk through it this time…but oh it’s so hard to just say “Scribble here, then scribble there.” I’m not sure how helpful this is! Watch it below, or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube:

A note about the Copic Wide marker I used, the YG95: that one doesn’t exist on THIS list, right? Well, guess what you can do? Pick up an EMPTY marker. You can do that with any marker body, but I’ve found it especially helpful to have it in the Wides so I can choose what colors I’m most likely to use. And with my desire to do these forests, YG95 was a must. So I just used my reinker and filled ‘er up!

  25. This card is just amazing, as usual. I love how you were able to incorporate all of the animals without making it look too busy. It’s just perfect. And thank you for showing us, once again, how important it is to use the same colors at times to tie everything together. I’m one of those people who struggles with thinking I need to use a different color for absolutely everything on the card. I’ve learned from you how using the same colors makes everything more cohesive and everything ties in together, and I see it when you do it, but I catch myself doing the opposite still…time and time again :/ Thanks for the (beautiful) reminder! I’ll get there. Xo
