Dry Embossing

Posted on Aug 4, 2012 | 7 comments

I’m back to share another card for you with the ‘rejects’ from my learnings – this time I cut out the leaf template, adhered it to a piece of blue cardstock, and ran the both of them through an embossing folder. (It’s by Sizzix, and I got it through a Stampin Up! rep.)

I added some old Basic Grey paper and a sentiment from SRM….tied up a little twine for an embellishment and called it done!

  1. So nice Sandy, just wondering why it is a “reject”…I would love to get this card from you!

  2. Oh the end card isn’t a reject. But the paper I used for the leaf was a reject when I tried making the Crafters Workshop card for the video earlier this week. :) I used all the extra pieces to do other things with all week, even though they weren’t stand-alone trees like I was trying for. :)

  3. Gorgeous, love it and the colors.

  4. Inspired! I will definitely be trying new techniques!

  5. Ditto Mary’s comment: gorgeous! I have quilt blocks of autumn leaves from years and years ago that have never been made into a quilt. Still love the colors! Someday….

  6. Love how it looks with the embossing.

  7. I just saw this technique on another blog — don’t ask which one, cuz I skip around a lot. The cardmaker had used small red hearts adhered to pink paper, then ran them through this same embossing folder for a great looking Valentine’s Day or Love card.
